Yeah Lou won't be in 'til Wednesday.

Our first ZDayZ we all went down on Thursday. The next year, Wednesday. The next, Tuesday.

Now, we're there for a full week. :)

I am right there with you. I will be heading in with a group from down here on Thursday morning. I want to be able to go on other vacations other than just ZdayZ so I cant kill a whole week and accomplish that. I need to put a year of vacations in the hole then I could make it happen.

I'm one of the lucky ones who gets 3 weeks of PTO a year... already had a cruise to the bahamas in February, now ZdayZ in May... :excited:

I hate to say this, but I've been at my job for almost 40 (yes forty!) years :icon14: :icon14:. In November, I hit the milestone. I get 6 weeks of vacation, so I can usually get the time off that I want.

Mrs. mults and I will be leaving Cleveland after work on Tuesday and we'll be spending the night en-route somewhere. We will arrve in Fonana sometime Wednesday early afternoon. I hate the drive there :eekdance:, but once we're there, I love the drive :driving:.

i've barely been alive for half of the time you've been working so i cant say i put my time in yet for all that vacation time lol

i'm coming from pittsburgh so i got a lengthy drive as well. i really dont mind long drives but kinda sucks when you're alone. i did a 1200 mile drive when i bought my Z so this shouldnt be too bad lol

sfearl1 04-26-2013 11:59 AM

It's at Mike's cabin. If he's got the same cabin as last year, it's on the corner in front of the lodge and restaurant.

I'll be at Mike's cabin at that time, so theoretically there could still be a meet and greet at my room that I'm not aware of... ;)

Are you going to be at Fontana all weekend this time?

Nope. :shakes head: I'm about 10 minutes away. Close enough to drive, far enough to be quiet. (Trying to find that silver lining...)

ZCarMan 04-26-2013 02:33 PM

For those of you who know Mike the Powdercoater it goes without saying he is probably one of the nicest fellas out there. He is a true track junkie as well as a major supporter of the 370Z community, ZDayZ and ZNationals. Be sure and think of him when you need powdercoating for your Z!

mults 04-26-2013 02:53 PM

Just checked on some gas prices on the way to Fontana (Maryville, TN) and the price is $3.119/gallon (regular grade). That's a good $.55 cheaper than the gas around Cleveland. Hopefully it won't rise too much as we get closer to Memorial Day. I just checked my spreadsheet and last year I paid between $3.659 and $3.799/gallon in the same area. Like the kid on the Kaiser Permanente commercial says, "Things are looking up".

yea i got 93 for $3.81 yesterday so any drop on the way down would be lovely. i'm not complaining since for awhile 93 was well over $4 a gallon here for awhile.

sexZness 04-26-2013 03:05 PM

My allowance for gas for this trip is $500, which should get me at least 6 full tanks and about 7 fill-ups.. So yes, I'll take any breaks I can get :ugh2:

Again, I checked my spreadsheet, and last year I filled up 7 times (12-13 gallons each) and spent about $266. This was for 1,532 total miles and I averaged 25.98 MPG.

1600? I thought we were both around ~600 miles each way, I think mine came to about 570

KaienZ34 04-28-2013 08:10 PM

Google says it's 692 miles each way for me.

Yeah, but that's just to get there. Once you start driving the Dragon, Cherahola and the other amazing roads, the mileage will definitely add up.
