I don't mind losing as much with a great game/finish like that, but I think the refs cost us that game. :stirthepot:

That game was hilarious. It featured:

-Loud "B-ullshit" chanting that made Al Michaels start snickering.
-Michael Orr being intentionally kicked in the head by a patriots o-lineman that wasn't called.
-Belichick shoving a ref (lol)
-Really awful officiating

That BS chant was hilarious and even as a Pats fan I'll admit that it was a BS call. There were a lot of non calls on the Ravens in the first half though. There was one instance where a Ravens player was just straight up slapping Edelman in the face a couple times along the sideline and it wasn't called. They even showed it on the replay.

Back to the headlights. Put out some feelers and I'm waiting to hear back. Figured I'd do it in writing so I can keep track.

I sent an email to the guy that runs D&V Autobody (who did my door handles a week or two back). I left them a nice review on yelp afterwards and he went out of his way to thank me for it. Figured we might get an honest response from him. I also hear they do a lot of work for people on these forums so...

Hi Again Kevin,
So I have a small problem. Before I start I'm going to tell you that I understand very well (now) why we're supposed to let professionals do the custom work on our cars so here we go:

Me and a few others on the370z.com decided to mod our headlights. Process involved baking them, cracking them open, painting (I went with "blackout) and resealing.

...

I'm going to go ahead and wait until you stop laughing...

Anyway we had a few "mishaps" and now two of us have "melty" spots on top of the clear lense of one of our headlights. I understand that the assemblies themselves go for $300-600 used on ebay but before I go there, is it possible at all to sand out/buff headlight lenses? Doesn't have to be perfect but I'd rather not have a quarter-sized melted spot on top of the lense.

The headlight itself appears to be structurally sound and the heat damage did not penetrate the lense (appears to be mostly on the surface).

1) Can you fix something like this without replacing the lense itself? Nissan won't just sell the lense of course and wants you to have to buy the whole assembly. Almost like they didn't want you to crack open your own headlights or something...

2) How much would you charge if so?

I can take pictures if needed.

Happy Monday,
-Mark

DM how do you think these guys open the headlights? Same method

Hit up daedalus customs, they are local to you and do some pretty good custom work. Ask for Cliff and tell him I sent ya

dmhenderson 09-24-2012 11:52 AM

Yeah but I bet they damage them a lot less than your average Joe does ;)

I'll check out Daedalus

Don't get me wrong. I was pretty upset for about 30 minutes after It happened but I got over it fast.

I knew the risks going in plus I learned a lot.

I think I'm passed the point where this kind of stuff bothers me with my car. Can't change the fact that it happened so why stress over it. The car still looks amazing, just a little bit more on one side than the other :p

Exactly... well said.

Yeah pretty much. I had my turn earlier this year and now it's yours. You're not getting past us again because we are going to WIN the Super Bowl this year.
