[Warning] Dumb question inside
 

So I'm interested in adding a little under the hood "bling" for shows in the form of a nismo radiator cap and oil filler cap.

I'm assuming these are just normal unscrew and "there you go" sort of installations right?

No chance of harming the car unless I do something retarded like open the radiator cap with the engine hot or crossthread the oil filler cap...right?

I'm not certain, but I would assume that you're correct. And I don't think it's a dumb question at all.

yes that is correct, i have a red billit aluminum oil cap that i got from ebay and a skunk2 high pressure rad cap, plug and play. pull the old off, screw the new on!

There was a bunch of hooha on the 350z site about "high pressure rad caps" being bad for NA engines or non-tuned engines or some such nonsense. Any truth to it?

I feel like that's just horsesh*t but that's just me...

Also is there any difference between the $95 NISMO oil filler cap and the knockoff that looks just f'ing like it that sells for $25?

Also thinking that this is a "no" but just wanted to make sure.

Best part is the NISMO label is a decal.

Spent $50 and got a chrome nismo oil filler cap and a brushed aluminum high pressure radiator cap. Much more reasonable.

Can you link me where you got them, I was also looking to get a nismo OFC and RC. :tiphat:

Oops it was $75 total not $50. Nismo radiator cap was more expensive than the other one I was looking at but that's fine. I will post links.

That's true. My theme is Black/Red/GM, and right now it's looking like my pipes will either be black, or brushed aluminum since I can't get red couplers. :confused:

Yeah everything in/outside the car is black and red. I like the bling under the hood for shows though because it really looks awesome once you polish it up.

The cool thing is (for the seller I saw) The nismo emblem doesn't come attached to the cap so you can install it, and see where it's tight, then install the nismo emblem so it's aligned the way you want it. :tup:

Yeah that's pretty standard I think. The super expensive one is like that too.

I'll prolly go with the GM first, if I like it, it's a keeper, or swap for red.

I found this. It says it doesn't fit the 2011 and 2012 models but aren't the oil cap and radiator cap the same?

It should. The oil filler cap looks the same as the one I bought but who knows.

Also as far as I know, there hasn't been a change to either the radiator cap or the oil cap in the 370 since 2009 so...
