Yeah that would be fine, but I'm not sure how much grass area there will be wherever we are doing this. Shouldn't be an issue, but we should think about it for whatever location we will be using.

Yeah I haven't done any of these things. I've seen it with the bumper off when the intake went in but that was the day I bought it.

eastwest2300 08-08-2012 05:46 PM

You could also bring a big blanket to lay your bumper on that..just a thought. Dude, IM excited, I've always wanted to this mod. Blades, post up the paint that we need to buy..

From the little bit that I know of this mod, you gotta have a blow dryer, a silicone sealant, a butter knife to pry the headlight open, the oven to heat up the original sealant, and I think thats it..

This is the one recommended in the DIY

What do you need the blow dryer for if you're gonna use an oven to heat the sealant?

Gonna check if they have the paint at Walmart the next time I go there. That's probably the cheapest place to get it.

Assuming we all don't need to bring paint right? Someone should bring a couple cans of paint and the sealant or w/e and they don't bring booze/soda or whatever.

It's like a potluck only less lame.

We need to figure out how many cans will be needed per set and how many sets we will be doing.

I'll also throw in the idea of ordering some pizzas for lunch

You need the blow dryer to dry the new sealant once its applied. From the little bit that I know of this mod, you use the oven to break the seal of the original sealant, and the blow dryer for the new sealant, theres a reason why? I dont know it though...trust me, I dont claim to be the expert, but I have looked into it thoroughly.

Pizza or Bufffalo Wild Wings is an EXCELLENT idea... trollollllollllolol

I think aiming for september would be great for planning. Also...didn't think of having to store bumpers and having jacks and stands for everyone's car and space for that. Anyone else have a location? Plan for 10 8-10 cars as we already have 6 after one days worth of posts.

dmhenderson 08-08-2012 06:03 PM

Well you could always just cut it off after 10 people or whatever. I don't have enough room to host or I would.

I'm not saying you're wrong or anything, not trying to troll you here. I looked over the DIY by simota earlier today and didn't see any mention of a blow dryer, which is why I was curious.

I don't think we'll need jack stands. We just need to get the car jacked up to have access to the undertray to be able to take the bumper off. Once we get those bolts off from underneath, we can set the car back down and drive it around with no problem. Actually you might be able to reach the bolts without jacking the car up as long as you're at stock height. I can't do it on mine since my car is lowered.

You guys are posting too fast for me to be replying from my cellular haha.

Pizza and wings sounds amazing.
I'm gonna bring blue paint for my lights. Not decided on the black yet. I also am bringing mesh and plasti dip to mod the front bumper.

b1adesofcha0s 08-08-2012 06:05 PM

I'm thinking about whether I should use this opportunity to paint my wheels since it looks like we'll be there for a while anyways. :icon17:
