Import Face-Off: Capitol Raceway, Crofton, MD. July 12th, 2009

When I went to Altered Atmosphere this past Friday (19 June) they mentioned this upcoming event. I scanned a copy of the flier:

Looks like it could be fun!

zZSportZz 06-20-2009 03:36 PM

Damn, I'll be in Maine that entire week. Can you say road trip with the Z? :)

Jon@Altered 06-22-2009 10:43 AM

I'm going! We might have our shop cars there as well!

dawankler 06-22-2009 12:20 PM

Damn, I'll be coming back into town late that day :(

I've been tempted to hit up the T&T there. I live like 10 minutes from the place and hear them all the time.

2theextreme 06-25-2009 05:14 AM

I hope there aren't any bikes running out of fuel there.....if they do, I might suggest they try to add "NOS" to the tank!

tooohip 06-25-2009 09:58 AM

I'm planning on heading down I'm pretty sure...

fly yellow 06-25-2009 10:38 AM

I think I will be there as well.

:icon18: Hahahahaha. Man that was too funny. Can't bealive how dumb some people can be.

tooohip 06-25-2009 06:05 PM

I'd say, let's do a caravan down to Crofton, but two of us live just minutes from it and the others are coming from the opposite direction! ;-)

Guess it won't be hard to find you all there though. Can we park right on the grounds there?

I'll be coming from Northern VA. but maybe there is a strip mall or a McDonald's nearby where we could meet up and head on in....a 370Z convoy!

tooohip 06-25-2009 06:33 PM

Well, you VA guys are literally coming the opposite direction for the entire route (all the way to Capitol Raceway Road). Me and Fly will most likely use 3 south while you'll be 3 north to Capitol Raceway Road. Now, if there's someone that feels like meeting somewhere regardless, I'm all for it. I don't mind driving out of my way and caravaning in, however I'll stop at the VA border LOL. ;-)

dawankler 06-30-2009 01:39 PM

Looks like I probably won't make it for this. I DID go to T&T at Cap Raceway this past Friday, though. I didn't run, but I'll definitely be going back to run some Friday night.

2theextreme 07-04-2009 01:29 AM

One week & one day away, folks! Who all is going? I'd love to maybe have a meeting place so all us 370 owners could drive in together.

tooohip 07-04-2009 05:34 PM

I should be there... I'll meet somewhere before to if you want.

Since you are closer, what's up that way that could be used a meeting place? Restaurant, gas station, place of business...any of those work for me. I'll just Map Quest or use the ol' Navi to find ya! ;)

fly yellow 07-05-2009 09:56 PM

It is still looking like I will make it. I had an embarrassing moment at Captal Raceway this past Friday Night. I did a run and my clutch pedal stuck to the floor. Burned up the clutch nicely. If anyone remembers I will just say it was toohip's Z.

fly yellow 07-05-2009 09:59 PM

I don't know if I will be able to meet up before hand, but for those of you that do I would recommend the Village at Waugh Chapel. It's about 2 miles before the track coming from Baltimore and 2 miles past the track coming from VA.

I'm good with that! As the weekend approaches hopefully we can all agree on a time, too. I'm getting a little :excited:! Now, do I get the coilovers installed before Sunday or not? :p

Works for me too...

2theextreme 07-08-2009 09:59 PM

Almost that time! I'm still planning on heading up that way this weekend. Meeting place is still the Village at Waugh Chapel? If so, what time should we meet? I'd like to get there a little early.....hopefully they start letting cars in before 11 AM.

I can try to be early. Actually it sounds like you can get there earlier than 11, but I'm afraid you'll just find yourself waiting in line. Post a time that you want to meet and I'll set the alarm as long as it's not too late of a Saturday night! :ughdance:

I hear ya! Since this will be my first trip from Northern VA. to Crofton, MD. Mapquest estimates the drive at 48 minutes so I'll probably head out around 10ish and be at the meeting point by 11. That's my intent as of right now. ;)

I think I can be there by then... :tiphat:

Woo hoo....1 more day! Although I now am suffering with allergies, I'll be resting today and I still plan on heading up there tomorrow. Hopefully others will, too!

I'll see you at the Chapel. It looks like there's a restaurant/fast food joint as soon as you make the turn at the main entrance. Not sure what it is, but maybe we can try to be there? Or at the Chick Fila?

I've never been there, just looking at google earth. ;-)

Weather looks good tomorrow.

2theextreme 07-11-2009 04:37 PM

Is the Chick-Fil-A in the Chapel center?

No idea. It's listed at that web site. Guess we'll play it by ear. It can't be too hard to find a Blue 370z there. :bowrofl:

I was wondering what happened to ya. There was a bunch of 350's that also met up at the Chickfila who I ran into. We ended up heading over the the show around 11:30. It was ok, but nothing you'll be sorry for missing. ;-)

Whew....that makes me feel a little bit better. Were you the only 370 there?
