Can someone recommend a good mechanic/tune shop in the DC metro area?(not baltimore)

About to buy HFCs and headers and looking for a place to do the install + tune.

Dealership (ha ha) quoted me $1300 for the install alone so yeah after I got done laughing, I figured I'd ask around.

$1300?!?!

I don't think that's too unreasonable a price. I've heard the header install takes like 10-12 hrs from a shop. That's the main reason I didn't buy headers was because of the high install cost.

I've dealt with Fries Garage, they are in Manassas. Tell them Chris with the GT500 sent you.

Fries Garage (703) 368-7776 9819 Cockrell Rd, Manassas, VA 20110

Tell them what you want and ask for a quote, they are very honest and up front.

Good luck!

10 to 12 hours for headers install? holy cow...

We can handle it here. 5-6 hrs labor. Gimme a buzz if you would like to schedule an appointment.

Hmm really? I remember when I was looking into them that people were saying it was a 10-12 hr install, which is the main reason I stayed away. Maybe that was for a self-install time. I do apologize if I was wrong about that, but it's great if AAM can do it in half that time

came here to recommend this :)

I believe we can do it in less to be honest :). I will ask David our technician. The book might call for 10 which is absurd as we can take out a motor in less time.

Thanks Randy :)

Give me a ring if you need to schedule any appointments whether it is from upgrades or even basic service.

I had AAM install my headers a few years back. They completed it same day by early afternoon.

Dealer costs are always higher.

A lift makes HFC installs an easy thing.
