Well they're expecting like 2k cars to get in there and the entrance is pretty small. Also the road leading up to the stadium is only like 2-3 lanes I think.

Hey blades, do you have the actual address for this site, so I can plug it into the GPS.

Can't you ever just Google the address yourself? That's what I do every time I give you the address. :icon17:

4101 Crain Hwy, Bowie, MD

eastwest2300 04-15-2012 10:19 PM

Ahhh. But look if the gates open at 12, that would mean, everyone is gonna be stuck in traffic, wouldnt you think?

You guys must not realize how big this show is...last time I went, there were ~4000 cars that showed. If the weather is good, it WILL be a huge show.

Bobo, so what time do you think we should get there? do they start letting people in before noon?

You would really need to get there at least one hour if not two before the 12pm start time to avoid issues.

When they held this even on the College Park campus traffic was horrible and the campus has three main roads (Adelphi, Rt. 1, Rt. 193) and four entrances to get you in and out of the campus.

There is only ONE main road (rt. 301) to get to the Baysox stadium and there is only ONE entrance/exit.

Crux 04-16-2012 11:40 AM

I got the info from a g35 forum, they said they'll be "running 65-70 deep" and expecting to get there around 1045.

I don't have any experience getting to the event, but I can see this as a potential traffic nightmare as it is only one way in, one way out - and a metric **** ton of people expected to go.

I'm an early bird so I have no problem getting there around 930-1000.

I say we get near the area at least by 11 so we could gauge traffic. It'll get busy very quickly. So I think 10:30-11:00 would probably be decent.

eastwest2300 04-16-2012 01:01 PM

Damn dude, this is gonna be crazy!!! holy cow! Im sooo stoked!

+1 I would rather get there 2 hours early and get in 1st, then get there at 11, waiting 1 hour untill they open + 2 more hours for all the other cars to get out of our way.

b1adesofcha0s 04-16-2012 08:30 PM

I would think they let people in early to get set up and parked.

ak6ar 04-16-2012 08:35 PM

Ok I am down for this. Put my name on the List. :happydance: I am down to roll early.

GTLAW 04-17-2012 12:06 PM

Guys can't be late! Need to be early and give time to get there early.

All late people will be left. So no sex or drinking before the big day!

+1 to the question,

I suggested the normal FFX spot.

Everyone already knows that so there will bo no confusion. We will get there around 8:15am and will leave there by 8:30am to meet the MD people at Nissan of Bowie around 9:30am. We will leave for Baysox Stadium at 10:00am Sharp. And I can shine my ride while we wait to get in 1st. Then enjoy watching all the other cool cars come in :tiphat:

ak6ar 04-17-2012 07:17 PM

Ok if we are meeting at Nissan of Bowie at 9:30 I will be there then.

Masa 04-17-2012 07:34 PM

+1 we should meet at Nissan of Bowie between 9:30~10am then roll out shortly after.

That works for me....Nissan of Bowie sounds like the final meeting point before rolling into the show.

Meeting point for the VA guys will be the normal FFX spot. Just know that on Sunday mornings, they have another car meet going on so don't be shocked to see close to 20 or more cars there already. :icon17:

For those who've never been, here is a link to the FFX meet thread with directions to the location:

Yikes, I forgot about that! They meet there around 8:30 on sundays! Dont want to get jammed up in that. I will definitly be leaving there @ 8:30 sharp to meet the DC and MD folk at Bowie Nissan

MnTBlitz 04-18-2012 05:45 AM

I am interested in going, just need to work some things out but will have a definite answer by fri. I'll let you know

b1adesofcha0s 04-18-2012 07:01 AM

Hey Jon, would you mind contacting the Nissan of Bowie guys to let them know we will be meeting up there? Don't want them to get freaked out when a bunch of us just show up there :p

I hope my pitchfork and torches dont worry them too much...

superchargedg 04-19-2012 07:03 PM

We have 47 repping the G's for this meet and yes get there about 10 so they let all the groups in early.

MnTBlitz 04-20-2012 08:14 PM

You can add to me to list, I'll be able to make it

2theextreme 04-24-2012 05:51 AM

Jon aka ZCarMan has proposed an alternate location to meet up near Bowie than Nissan of Bowie.

We currently have 12 cars signed up. The problem is when you leave Nissan of Bowie, you can't just go across the highway and turn left to head toward Baysox Statdium. You'd have turn right and try to make it over to the left lane and then find turn around and hope everyone makes it together. The alternative I'd like to offer is this: Meet here:

Hyatt Fairfax at Fair Lakes to Unknown road - Google Maps

This is about a mile and a half south of Nissan of Bowie. You can take Highway 4 east off 495 and then link up to 301 North. Turn left off 301 at Beechtree Parkway and head to the top of the hill. There is a trailer on the right and a parking lot that nobody uses on the left. We can all meet there. When we leave we simply roll out to the light and turn left and head north. I'll be sitting there in the parking lot and you will see me easily. Eazy Peazy.

Sounds like a good idea....what do you guys think?

So the VA guys meet @ our regular Saturday meeting point (Starbucks) and then we roll out to meet Jon and the others in Bowie.

MnTBlitz 04-24-2012 07:16 AM

:icon14: when i click the link it says my ending destination is in mexico...but i know where your talking about. Theres that wawa also that has pretty easy access in and out well. Just a thought. Doesnt matter to me.

Those directions start in VA so you may not want to go from MD to VA back to MD. I'd contact Jon aka ZCarMan because when I click the link this is what I get:

Cool deal. I have no idea where he is talking about so hopefully I don't get too lost looking for him! :icon17:

MnTBlitz 04-24-2012 07:49 AM

Its the iPad maps :shakes head: just check on the laptop and the link was good. The wawa is just north of the new spot but it probably would be packed anyways.

2theextreme 04-24-2012 01:52 PM

I've requested 5 additional spots for a total of 20.....I have a coworker who is attending the meet now, too.

b1adesofcha0s 04-24-2012 02:11 PM

Did we get 5 additional people attending too? Jon can you post the address for the meeting location and the time you want us to meet you there?

Sndtgr08 04-24-2012 06:29 PM

Sounds good to me.

ZCarMan 04-24-2012 08:27 PM

For anyone coming from the north on 301 Southbound, continue south past Bowie of Nissan about 3 lights and turn right onto Beechtree Parkway. When you turn onto Beechtree Parkway continue up to the top of the hill. You'll see me sitting in the parking lot at the top on the left. At the very top there is a roundabout. If you mistakenly enter into the roundabout at the top of the hill, you'll need to come back around and turn into the parking lot.

Use googlemaps and get directions from: Your location, MD to: Beech Tree Parkway, Upper Marlboro, MD. Where it ends you'll see a roundabout just up a bit. There is a parking lot right before it on the left as you drive toward it. I'll be there.

I recommend we meet no later than 9:45AM with a goal to roll out by no later than 10AM. I'm just thinking we might find tons of cars if we leave any later but this isn't my gig, so I defer to Tony. I'll be in the parking lot by 9:30AM so as to not miss anyone who arrives early.

Shahid, I had to fix the post as the link was getting hinkey on me so just put your origination point using googlemaps and the destination as Beech Tree Parkway, Upper Marlboro, MD.
