ak6ar 03-24-2012 04:14 PM

That was definitely fun to meet everyone. I know RandyD talked about a cruise on the 15th, I am going to try and keep that day open :driving:.

Thats funny, I had a hell of a time trying to get my post maf tubes on as well, but it only took me about 45 minuters. Nearly broke my finger trying to pry it on.

It sounds like you all had a great experience, I assume they didnt try to sell you anything? Its nice seeing friendly dealerships.

ZCarMan 03-24-2012 04:29 PM

Nope, not one person trying to sell anything. They were just supporting our meet and allowing us to hang out. Got a nice guided tour of the facilities and an invite to come back. I can see us being there again certainly. I also encouraged them to become a sponsor of the forum here. I believe that is a goal of theirs once they have the support necessary to make it happen.

Hey Jon, thanks for setting this up. I had a good time, and glad I came out.

:rofl2: That's how things usually turn out but he had a lot of factors impeeding our progress so it's not a 'typical' MAF Tube install. :icon17:

:p I actually didn't have anything to eat since I wasn't going to till the install was done, and as soon as it was done the bottom fell out so it was time to roll out. :ugh2:

Did you remember to do the negative terminal ECU Reset when you got home? :icon08:

XwChriswX 03-25-2012 05:56 AM

Brian were those Dynos before/after a tune, or before/after a certain mod? OR a Baseline/Current? There's a lot of space between the lines.

RandyD 03-25-2012 08:22 AM

Thanks to Jon for the setup!
and thanks to the guys at Nissan Bowie for the great hospitality.

I had a pretty good ride down Patuxent River Road (worth a mini cruise at some point) despite the rain. I'll see if the videos turned out - if they did I'll post them on the Bucket Roads thread.

I'll also start a new thread for the Tax Rebellion Cruise...

That was with all my mods, base line, then with everything tuned.

The car feels so much better. It makes me want to add more Bolt ons and go for more. Im extremely happy with hills garage. They were awesome.

That's awesome!

The only bolt on you have left to add is HFC/TP/Headers.

Hills Garage was awesome experience for me as well. Frank installed my FI CBE and NST Pulleys, he does some really nice work. Eventually want to go the Uprev route in the future as well, and would be going back to get it done at there. Nice numbers you got as well.

Yes sir, I actually just got done doing the ECU reset, then I took her to the gas station, topped her off, and did what you said, and drove her pretty good. I like it, lots and lots fun.

Ok after seeing everyone without their front plates I had to take mine off. I love the look without the plate. Well then I had the two stupid holes in the front plastic.

So I went out to autozone to see if I could find something to plug it with. I found some plastic panel retainers (Dorman 963-045 for Chrysler, Ford, GM Panel Retainers) at autozone for $2.50. Two of them were perfect fits, and the color matches almost exactly the magnetic black of my Z. It looks really like they are meant to be there. I would get pics, but it's getting dark outside.

If anyone else is looking for something to cover those holes, you should try these out.

eastwest2300 03-25-2012 06:34 PM

Im leaning towards getting the stillen license plate kit, its about $100.

That is definitely nice, it lets you to run a plate when you want to, and then take it off when you don't want it. Have you gotten any tickets due to no front plate?

That's my plan is to put the plate on my dash for normal use. It's at a good price $71.36 from Stillen with free shipping.

I used to run no front plate but I would literally get pulled over for it at least twice a week. Heck, the first week I got the Z I was pulled over four times lol.

It got old real fast so I just put mine on.

Yeah the local police definitely tend to pull people over for no front plate. On previous cars I have gotten a few tickets. I am considering the Stillen plate but will see how it goes for a bit first.

Awesome I needed those for the holes in my front bumper too.

Sndtgr08 03-25-2012 09:28 PM

I refused to drill my bumper in the 1st place. I have had 3 warnings about the plate in my window. I was told to "mount" it to the car....I installed a Show N Go this weekend. It takes about 5 seconds for my plate to flip out. By the time the fuzz gets to my window I'm ready.

"What do you mean no front plate?!?!? Did some one steal it? Can I see? .....What are you talking about officer? Its right there!"

Sorry, thought that was obvious.

I installed the electric one. I thought it would defeat the purpose if I had to get out of my car to flip it up.

I paid $120 shipped from ebay last year i believe. Normal install should take you 10minutes-30minutes depending on how anal you are about placement. It took me an hour+ to get it in. But I decided to install it INSIDE my aftermarket bumber. So not only did I have to remove my bumper, but also my tires and wheel wells and underpanels just so I can get to all the extra screws they had in the bumper. Then I had to cut the carbon fiber....Anyways, a normal install will be quick and easy.

Aslo installed new halo projector headlighs, leds, 12v port, 2 relays, a 1 channel RF reciever, and a 2 channel RF reciver while I had the bumper off...

The license plate bracket that retracts.

Hey guys here are most of the photos I grabbed. I thought I got a lot more, but apparently not. I have a ton of Tony's car but I don't want to post them all because I might try and make a feature of it.

All in all, it was a really cool meet in my opinion....minus almost getting run over by the guy in the black 370Z while I was snapping pix on the ground. -_____- I hope that we continue to have them at Nissan of Bowie every other Saturday if it works for everyone, but I also live less than 5 minutes from there so I'm somewhat partial :P If we do another one there, I'll make sure to get more pix, and of everyone's cars...enjoy!
