Yeah... i did 5 hours today :) several I did before I had the camera.. so now I have a mini mission to go back and grab dash cam views of the rest. (The reservoir was on shado's cruise - awesome) - also, there are plenty that don't make the cut... these are in general the best roads I can find - I typically run them each direction too - to see which is better :)

Crest Hill Road
Fauquier County

map: http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=Cr...a=mrv&t=h&z=12

Distance: ~ 16.5 miles
Road Condition: Excellent
Lined: Yes
Posted speed Limit: 45
Speed Enforcement: low
Traffic: Light - Moderate

Comments: Crest Hill is aslightly more mainstream road than the rest in this neighborhood... but still a great connector, and very pretty.

Comments: Stunning scenery. Heavily enforced speed limits. Still worth the visit. Check out this thread for a review of one of our cruises there.

I wasn't able to go on Thursday. The gf and I are going to go in the morning. Drive out and get breakfast on the way. Might even see some flurries!

I'll add my very favorites on the first post - good idea...
Also, happy to have anyone else contribute their favorites...

I discovered Hampton Road (647) near D.C. It has a few outlets, but is very twisty with quick elevation changes and is right in Lorton.

I posted this in Nashville thread recently, but it deserves more exposure:
MotorcycleRoads.US - Great roads in the US for motorcyclists, sports car drivers, tourists, and other travelers

Hampton Road
Fairfax County

map: VA-647/Hampton Rd to VA-647/Hampton Rd - Google Maps

mini-route I followed:
http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=VA...a=1,2&t=h&z=13

Distance: ~ 4.5 miles
Road Condition: Good. Pretty bumpy - and some potholes.
Lined: Yes
Posted speed Limit: 35
Speed Enforcement: Light
Traffic: Light - Moderate

Comments: It has a few outlets, but is very twisty with quick elevation changes and is right in Lorton. (takjak2)
When I ran it, i was concerned about all the driveways that opened up on to the road, had to keep it pretty slow. The scenery was nice, and it is certainly close in.

This vid is of the tail end of Hampton... notice the idiot who is on the wrong side of the road as I turn the corner (at :50) ... (I prefer a road with nobody on it)

This road in midwestern VA is extremely fun for those who like twisties, and is a 10 minute drive from 64, I make a point of running it a few times every time I drive home. I have never seen a cop on it and according to the gas station attendant at one end of it they turn around at the south end of it because thats the county line. Enjoy
