OK - that was so much fun, I'm inspired to plan the next one. How does everyone feel about a Virginia version - including some Skyline drive? if there is interest, i'll work on the route - maybe shoot for late august or early september...

thoughts?

I might be up for this depending on the date (the wife and I have a few camping trips and scheduled for around that time already). I haven't been to Skyline drive in over 15 years. From what I remember, it has really beautiful scenery.

LOL Somberlaine, I just happened to be close to the guy taking the pic :icon17: I asked for other pics of Al and he will be sharing them soon but he didn't manage to get the front rolling shot because Shado was on the front leading :( Good stuff Ryan, how do you like that pic with your top gear shirt. I'm in for another ride with Randy, Somberlaine & the crew depending on the dates.

Randy, here are a few routes that should be interesting.

From Fairfax to Warrenton via 66 and 29

Warrenton to Luray via 211
Luray to Front Royal via 340
Front Royal to Middleburg via 340, 277, and 50

LOL, guess that was my "Phhhew" face after that stretch of amazing driving from Frederick to Thurmont.

Stig or The Stig was my first choice for a personalized plate...of course it was taken.

I know who owns that plate in VA.... he just sold his 350 for a STI

RandyD 07-23-2011 12:17 PM

scouted parts of the potential route today... Snickersville Turnpike is pretty sweet. Rt 50 through Middleburg and Upperville is scenic, but slow, Route 17 - strict 45 enforcement, and easy to get stuck behind people - so i'm looking for an alternate here. Didnt get onto Skyline Drive today, but will do that soon.

How is the first weekend in September looking for anyone interested?
