Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Yeah, I mentioned some of my GT-R customers going to Xlnt Tint, and this is one of them:

He has since removed the film on his headlamps, and his car is very different now. Talking to him, he's had nothing but good things to say about the company. I don't remember the exact percentage, but he's had his front windshield done, his side windows, quarter windows, and rear window. I hope they can give you better service than D&L.

Good Luck!

I'm wondering if that is legal in the Republic of Virginia. I bet NOT!

Yeah Xlnt Tint is also asking $100 for tail lights and $20 for the brake light. I'm going there at around 1-2 pm today. I will post pics when I get home.

GM, I don't think your tail lights were tinted when I saw your Maxima two weeks ago. Did you get them done? When I had my Maxima I wanted to get them tinted too, but the car didn't last that long.

The pics of the GT-R look amazing Jon. The service and prices from Xlnt Tint have been excellent so far, thanks a lot for the recommendation!

Nah, decided against tinting the tails since that's an automatic safety inspection failure here in VA. The pics of the GT-R tinted tails look amazing. Sounds like that Xlnt Tint shop does some good work.

State Inspections, super tight emissions regs, the whole lot.

VA = your car better be stock or you're gonna fail :bowrofl:

hahaha. Maryland is the same way..

How often do you have to get your car inspected in MD? I got mine done already, my MD tags should finally be here by Tuesday.

eastwest2300 02-11-2011 02:36 PM

I think its just once, but I heard theres an interval as far as your emissions, you have to have that checked periodically. But im not 100% sure.

VA Emissions are every 2 years. MD is probably the same

Yeah, you don't have to have your car inspected in MD after that initial inspection, unless it sits without a registration for a while.

And as for emissions, it's every couple years. They basically hook up a code reader to the car. They rarely put the hose to the exhaust. If you fail, they give you a list of reasons and some time to get it fixed. You can request an extension on the test and I think the repair deadline if you file one.

It's pretty easy, though.

However, if you fail to get your emissions tested over time, they can and will suspend the registration on the vehicle, and that's a nasty-expensive ticket. ~600 bucks or so?

Good, it looks like i'll be safe from inspection troubles. Tinted tail lights is a whole different story ;)

BTW, I'm here at the shop and my car is in the process of getting tinted. Didn't realize how far south this place was. Took like 50 mins to get here from Glen Burnie.

They tried to kidnap me AND my Z! I am so happy I got out of there. It worked out better for them too because I would have sued the pants off of them if they didn't give me my keys back. My cousin works for a big law firm in DC ;)

I posted pics of the tint work in my other thread if you want to check them out.

Very good information ShadoQuad, I appreciate that, as do the fellow members on here as well.
