I missed the previous two so, as of now, I can make this one. :-)

Yep, stay anywhere in the Village and you'll always have something to do or there will always be something going on. Pretty much everything is within drunk, stumbling distance....

Just stay away from the NC cabin. Surprise buttsecks happens there.... but they have great beer pong tourneys.

You won't regret it. I will always cherish the memories from my trips there.

Anyone want to spill the cost of a room? I was about to make a reservation when I said, "F--- it, let me ask."

Check their website and look at the different cabins and lodge rates. If you can get several people to split the cost of a cabin, it isn't bad. I had a 2 bedroom cabin, but there were 4 of us in it. I think the whole weekend cost me $180 or so for 3 nights.

I got to gripe about the web sites for this event:

First the zdayz web site, I guess the [nice-guy] running the site, can't update it to reflect the new year and days of the event. The only signs of 2011 is the registration (I think its closed online since I got caught in this infinite loop telling me so).

But my favorite is the Fontana Village people, truly, village people. That web site is a joke… good luck figuring out what to reserve (in less than a week).

What the hell is a "Two Bedroom Two Queens" (with a picture of the lodge and no further details)?

I think you missed my point... or I didn't express myself correctly - That's exactly the reason why I asked if anyone wants to spill a room. Perhaps 2-4 of us can split the cost of a room and knock the price down.

When is a good day to show up? I heard it's from 18-21 May 2010. Does that I mean I have to sleep over on the 17th? and leave on 22?

We left around 5 AM on Thursday this year and arrived around 4 PM. We left early on Sunday morning. But, like any hotel, I'm sure you can arrive early and stay later.

So, it's ok to arrive the first day of the event as opposed to the day prior? In that case then I can save some $$$. :tiphat:

Don't even bother going there yet. The site will not be updated for 2011 until February at the earliest. As for Fontana, just call them. They are very helpful.

It sounds like we may be making a Wednesday departure this year eh? I'm up for it if so. A couple days of driving down there just wasn't enough. ;-)

Jeffblue 11-18-2010 07:52 AM
