My first "real" concert was Guns'N Roses/Faith No More/Metallica (Use your Illusion tour) at the old Cap Center after I had just moved to Maryland. 2nd was Stabbing Westward and Machines of Loving Grace at the old 9:30 Club across the street from 5th Column :3

I gotta say though... I'm not impressed with the latest album. Give me more of Showbiz, Origin of Symmetry, Absolution... everything but 2nd Law.

I didn't like Black Holes & Revelations much.
Absolution and OoS are my favorites but every single album has awesome music on it. Resistance was also fantastic come to think of it.

2nd Law (reference to the 2nd law of thermodynamics: Entropy because Matt Bellamy is a conspiracy nut) is a hit or miss album. HEAVILY influenced by Prince and Queen so it's a love/hate thing. If Panic Station doesn't make you want to dance, there's probably something wrong with you. Madness is also a really fantastic tune. Shame the radio is ruining it.

I remember seeing Muse at the Recher theater in Towson right before Absolution came out. The place was half empty and I was just floored.

I mean do this with another band and see what happens:

Showbiz: Sunburn, Falling Down, Sober
OoS: Whole freaking album
Absolution: Whole freaking album except Blackout
Black Holes: Supermassive is great live, Knights of Cydonia, Assassin, City of Delusion
Resistance: Uprising, Resistance, MK motherf'ing ultra, Unnatural Selection, Guiding Light
2nd Law: Madness, Panic Station, Animals

I started listing favorite songs and realized that was kinda sad but my #1 is still Time is Running Out.

The only concert I've ever been to was of this Pakistani singer a couple years ago. If Inna ever performs in this area, I'm gonna take Steve as a date to that concert :rofl2:

Agreed on 2nd Law.

Its hard for me to choose a favorite. I am partial to Bliss because it's the first Muse song that got me into them. If I had to, I'm picking Hysteria. I think I spent most of 2003 playing the guitar solo. :icon17:

dmhenderson 04-11-2013 10:49 PM

That hysteria riff/bassline is amazing. Back when ringtones were a thing and I was doing things that might have been questionably legal, it was my ringtone (The "I want it now" bit). If you stripped out the Bellamy vocals and told me it was a White Zombie song, I wouldn't have questioned it.

Bliss is a 2nd tier song for me off of OoS. All of those songs have super crunchy guitars and it's definitely up there.

m4a1mustang 04-11-2013 10:52 PM

I just remember Bliss because someone used it in a video about the Honda Ra300 Grand Prix car (from 1967.). I investigated further and fell in love with Muse. Plug In Baby is another one of my favs.

dmhenderson 04-11-2013 10:55 PM

Yeah Plug in Baby is fantastic. Like I said, I love that entire album except for microcuts because it's ...too much. Actually not crazy about space dementia either.

I haven't been really into cars until recently - like say, 2009 (hence all the dumb questions) but hey, I'm learning. I mean I always appreciated them but never really had any inclination to work on them or do things.

Same here. Summer of 2009 when I was coming back from my cousin's wedding in NJ. I was with his brother in a BMW 650i and one of our friends was with us in an M5. We did some linear accelaration tests on the way home and it changed my life forever. My next big leap was when I bought my Z and joined MAZOC. Completely changed my life and got me addicted to modding, spirited driving, and racing.........and ghey stuff :|

You and I are very similar in that respect. I purchased my Z back in 2009 and because of the MAZOC group and this forum I've learned most of everything I know about cars if you can believe that! I never had the time (or the cash) to be into sports cars before.

There are no "dumb" questions IMHO. The only dumb question is the one that is not asked. Of course the search feature is your best friend on this forum too. ;)
