I'm down for an MD meet, but we should probably start another thread for it.

Not fair on you VA guys for us to plan it in this thread LOL

I"m at the hotel getting ready to head over to Summit Point Raceway. I think we drive at 10AM so I"ll see you guys next weekend. Wherever we meet I will consider. It is an opportunity to drive!

Have fun, Jon.

what gives?

so, chickened out about parking my Z on the streets of the bronx, so drove my toyota matrix up there.

Had new radar detector (cheap, windshield type).i was doing 80, but being so careful. next thing I
know, a MD state trooper accelerates from
behind me and stays next to me for a brief second. stupid radar detector NEVER even blipped. i basically slammed on yhe brakes, slowed down to 60 and got behind grandma, waiting fir the cop to pull me over, but he never did.

I think he followed me for 3-5
minutes, although it felt like an eternity.

why did the cop let me go?
why didnt the radar detector go off?

crap..
if i was in the Z he would have skinned me alive, Predator style

still travelling, typed on my phone

If the detector didn't go off maybe he didn't have his radar on. I'm not an expert on this subject, so I may be off base here (anyone can correct me here), but I dont think he could write you a ticket citing his speedometer told him that you were going to fast. He probably needs that radar readout as evidence of your speeding.

Police can write a ticket if they match your speed. There are even some places where police are trained to "estimate" your speed and get you but I think that's pretty rare.

He probably just didn't have his radar on. He could have blasted you at any moment with the radar but he was probably being lazy.

They can write a ticket for following you anytime, but it will only stick if their speedo has been calibrated recently. I know a bunch of people that have gotten out of tickets through that loophole.

The speed estimation thing just irritates me. Only speeding ticket I ever got was an estimation ticket, he "estimated" me at 67 in a 60...it stuck in court due to being in a small town....

NCSUPACK09 08-22-2010 07:34 AM

I heard from somebody that you can ask to see the radar readout to as proof of your speeding. If they can't produce it, then you may be able to get out of the ticket in court. I don't know how true that statement is...

^^ I've seen approximately two 370's in the area here in my 1.5 years of owning the car. I see about 15-20 mustangs a day. :shakes head:

All depends on where you live. I see up to 10 370s a day to and from work. I do see a lot of Mustangs but most of the newer ones are V6 models.

That doesn't really matter to me, though. The GT is wicked!

And Rick, maybe if you came to the meets more than once in never I would have kept the Z. :P

ZCarMan 08-22-2010 09:40 AM

So when do we get to see it?

6-8 weeks from when I place the order. :roflpuke2:

I might be coming to the Z meets in a Buick for a while.
