A great VA meet today! We had a couple new Zs show up for the first time and even Tony managed to make it out with his Aunt in her mean Mustang!

Both of the new Zs were Black Cherry, One was a coupe (Ken and Ann) and the other was a drop top that just happened to show up for coffee (I forget the name) but he was happy to have met us.

Speaking of Black Cherry....Oronde showed up with his newly painted wheels which looked great! The Angry Bird Green Pig mod set everything off well!

Speaking of mods....Jay was sporting his new matte black grille and I must say it works well!

Amar managed to show with his NISMO and surprised us all and Matt came down from MD as well. Great meet and we'll see everyone in Columbia, MD next Saturday! Here are some of the pics I took of today's meet.

Would it be closer for you to come to Richmond? The Richmond Z Car Club is sponsoring their "Ztoberfest" in October at Mechanicsville Nissan. A couple of us are cruising down for that. Either way, we'll keep the light on for ya!

Glokwork 08-20-2011 06:53 PM

Yep Richmond is about 3 hrs from here and about 4 to Williamsburg

VaGntlmn 08-20-2011 09:33 PM

Looks like you had a great turnout today!!
I'm sorry I missed it; and I'm even more sorry that I missed Tony, I would have loved to see him.
But it was worth not being there. I went up to Hills and got dyno tuned; 318hp and 265ft-lbs of torque!! Oh Yeah!! :happydance:

Hopefully next time I make it....my Smurf will be back in action, too! I know I've said two more weeks....two more weeks....but this time I have a feeling I really do mean it. :rofl2: Once the lights get done the only hold up will be the lovely emissions test so I can get my plates renewed. The overall inspection of the car won't be an issue so I'm good there.

Nice! You got it done at Hill's Garage?

shadoquad 08-23-2011 10:21 AM

I just ordered new rear rubber for Chiana.

15,700 miles and the stockers are down to the tread life indicators. :p

Red__Zed 08-23-2011 10:25 AM

I'm out this week guys. I'll be up the 24th though

Like tomorrow? Or 9/24, during ZNats?

Red__Zed 08-23-2011 10:34 AM

Oh ****. Didn't realize that was znats. Fark.

I'm ordering the same Yokie Advans. I actually really liked them from the beginning. Eventually, I want wider rims/tires, but for now, I'll just load em up with the stockers again. Car handles like it's on rails imo.

Cool

been thinking about tires lately. the stock Potenza's wet traction is not that great. i may go with the Michelin pilot super sports. heard they perform better under wet conditions plus decent thread wear.

shadoquad 08-23-2011 11:24 AM

Ah. Yeah, I try to avoid wet, especially during cold.

You should get them a little wider, it will probably help a little bit. You can definitely get 245's for the front and 265's for the rear. I have 245 for my front tires if you want to see how wide those are on the 18's.

I actually want to see how 245's look on the front 18's... will you be at the next MD meet? What size did you go for the rear this time around? Wonder if 275's would be ok on the 18's rear.

Yeah since Dan isn't coming to VA, I will be at the MD meet this Saturday. I didn't need rear tires, only fronts. When I do need rear tires, probably some time near the end of the year, I will be getting 275's. There are some people on here who run them and say they fit ok.

This is from my All Season tire thread.

It's gonna be staggered no matter what you do. The wheel width for the back tires are different from the front. Go with 245's up front (fits perfectly) and 275's in the back (slight bulge, but looks pretty good). I have that setup on the same wheels as yours.

I work on the fourth floor in downtown dc and my first reaction was: is a truck passing by, is it the building?..got our of the office then the second and stronger tremor hit. got back in, packed my stuff, and left.

2theextreme 08-23-2011 08:34 PM

Meh....I stayed at work until I was told I had to leave. It felt amazing on the 12th floor of a building not designed to handle earthquakes. :yum:

Haha yeah I was in the same boat! On both parts... was told to leave at 2:15... stayed until 4. Plus, I also work on the 12th floor. Kinda crazy seeing a building sway this high up

Yes and no. I mean, if my identity perishes, I can move to Mexico under the pseudonym Emmanuel Labore and start all over again.
