CrownR426 09-27-2009 02:02 AM

Congrats and enjoy in good health!

First off welcome to the board and congrats! that is a great looking z34. I liked the RX-8 until I was in an accident that totaled it when a normal car would have been cool. Fun redline in the 8, but in these regards I'm biased. I hope you take no offense to this post! Your Z is hot, just curious if you have plans for her?

hey guys:hello:, well im not going to lie, i still really loved the R3 and as i have had rotors my whole life i did'nt even have to think about buying the new R3 spec RX8 as i just had to have it, BUT after owning it for around 8 months i was getting ready to start the mod phase, eg hymee supercharger, tein mono flex etc, but then i went for a ride with a mate that had a 370z and fell in love with it:driving: from ground up i much prefer the build quality of the Z to the R3 as the R3 feels alot cheaper including the interior, that has bearly been changed in 6 years "except for the AWESOME recaros" which i do miss, but overal interior the Z wins hands down. As for performance, i feel once the R3 gets to around 4k on Revs it is an awesome feeling and is great for the twisties but if you want that down right power that can put a smile on your face in any gear the Z certainly ticks the box. As for mods and this was a major contributing factor in why i got the Z, is it's much more accepting to high hp mods without jeopardising the engines integrity.:eekdance:

370Zsteve 10-10-2009 06:32 AM

Anyone who has ever driven a rotary can attest to the fun factor. I had an RX-3 back in the day and also a Mazda rotary pickup...this was around the gas crisis back in the 70's that almost killed the rotary engine (and Mazda). The big American V8's had become anemic, just no power at all..but they still had the spoilers, the screaming chiickens on the hood, etc.

The RX-3 was the ultimate stealth..I still remember just crushing the ego of some dude in an Olds 4-4-2, lmao. But the rotary pickup, that thing was just pure evil....dropping the rotary into a tiny Ford/Mazda pickup with truck gearing produced the sickest off-the-line burnouts you'll see outside of a drag strip. But man, the gas mileage was brutal for a car that looked like a Corolla. Never driven an RX-anything since, but I loved that engine.
