ZOOM Engineering Blue Side View Mirrors - 370Z
Installed my ZOOM Engineering Blue Mirrors
I bought it to battle blind spots and improve my viewing angle. I also like the contrast you get from blue mirrors. Convex/Blue silvering combo = Increased visibility Installation -- very easy, my daughter could do this. ZOOM Eng provides you everything you need to install the mirrors. Fitment was spot on. Result: ZOOM wins The down side: It is pricey for a pair of mirrors. The details: Glass Quality: When I unpacked the mirrors, I could tell right away the glass quality was top notch. There were no inconsistencies on the surface. There is no distortion on the reflections. The biggest selling point for me is the blue tint. I could not tell how they did it but the reflection is clear. Mirror Thickness: About 1/16 - 3/32. I could not tell if the thickness is perfectly consistent all around. I suspect it is not as it is difficult to do this flat let alone on a convex. This shape allow you to see more than the flat surface mirror. I cannot tell if the SoCal summer heat will cause it's shape to change causing distortion, I will let you know if it does. Mirror Silvering: The blue coating applied to one side makes this unique and easy to my eyes. It provides the contrast that I need. The quality of the reflection as a result of the coating is top notch. AeroJacket Type III / Duckbill Spoiler
Installed this at AeroJacket a few weeks back. I traded my old wing in for this spoiler. Not sure why I went with the Type I and not with this right from the start.
Here are some shots -- Took out the old wing. That's 3m tape placed on the old holes. I siliconed it on the other side. The dark spots you see are adhesive seal marks that we took off before installation. I washed the car since and no leaks. The new wing covers it up. https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2916/...a44543f5_b.jpg370, 370Z, Nissan, Nismo, Nismo Z, Z34, Avant Garde, AeroJacket, 029 by axmea?, on Flickr The small strips you see are zip ties attached to the spoiler where the tips land right on the spoiler's holes to mark where new holes will be drilled. Once the wing was in place, the zip ties were transferred by taping it onto the the hatch. We then marked where to drill based on where the tips landed. Neat trick. https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3827/...ecdfb94f_b.jpg370, 370Z, Nissan, Nismo, Nismo Z, Z34, Avant Garde, AeroJacket, 032 by axmea?, on Flickr https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5472/...af3ea34b_b.jpgDSCN7245 by axmea?, on Flickr https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3864/...707c02c3_b.jpgDSCN7228 by axmea?, on Flickr https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2901/...ecd01139_b.jpgDSCN7242 by axmea?, on Flickr https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2903/...0f62d38a_b.jpgDSCN7227 by axmea?, on Flickr https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5273/...db0747a5_b.jpgDSCN7224 by axmea?, on Flickr https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2906/...ac0a47fb_b.jpgDSCN7221 by axmea?, on Flickr |
