Hey Phelan...is your Amuse exhaust a little lower on the passenger side by chance? For some reason mine seems to be about 5mm lower on the passenger side...and I dont think that you can really adjust the height. So I am trying to figure out how to remedy that.
Just wondering. |

There's no real way to do fix the exhaust itself, you might just have to put a 5mm washer on the driver side to make it match? Quote:

We removed that extra bracket from the Nismo model and it seems to have aligned it a little bit more. Slightly off...but it seems to have fixed it for the most part.
One thing though is that the Nismo model seems to clear the EVAP container a bit more versus the non-Nismo models. |
I just looked over your pics from 1-1-11, and all I can say is wow. Your car is an absolute stunner, I am in awe of how clean it looks and not overdone. I know some of the other members were saying break up the red with something but the car flows so well I cant imagine what would make it look better. Great job with the build man.

Hard to describe....but best way to look at it would be to pull the picture from 370Ztune.com.
The pipe goes into the lower canister versus crossing over to the top one...so this allowed more clearance on the EVAP container. I just used Thermo-Tec adhesive heat shield material to help reflect the heat though. Rated to 2000 degrees F. I did have to remove the heat shield around the EVAP unit though. From what I was reading...you might need to jury rig a PVC pipe to make a make shift EVAP container unit. The 350Z guys were having this exact issue as well. Amuse!! - Page 2 - MY350Z.COM Forums It is a bit ghetto....but nobody really sees it and it is better than a melted EVAP unit. I dont know if you have "wiggle" room with the Amuse kit to move that EVAP unit more to the side....or a complete relocation. I would assume that as long as your connections are the same and the sensors are intact, it doesnt really matter where you move it....to a degree. |
Oh that's definitely interesting...so it's been an issue for a while now. Wonder why they never fixed it / realized the issue on the 350z? They could have saved themselves the headache on the 370s.
To answer your question, we looked at where we could move the EVAP canister, and there just was no way to move it anywhere else that would help. Other than starting to do some bodywork on the rear bumper to MAKE it work. Moving it to the middle would interfere w/ the canisters, too. Anyway, hopefully I have some news coming soon about it. Still working hard on the issues at hand  There's plenty of things I need to fix on Rin before she's back to 100% haha |
Well....best of luck. I am sure that in the end it will turn out okay....just a royal pain the in butt till then.
Hope that it is soon though. The complete package looked pretty impressive.....okay....maybe a little MORE than impressive. |
