Z1 6-puck clutch w/ lightened flywheel, Quaife LSD, Whiteline rear diff bushings, and Nismo finned diff cover. No issues in over a year (knock on wood). Everything seems to be handling the power perfectly. I just keep up with maintenance and try to inspect everything often.

Awesome ride man! BTW, I daily a Prius too :tiphat:

Just realized I never put pics up of the wheels on the car :P
I put a coat of CQuartz ceramic quartz on the wheels after prepping while they were still new. https://i.imgur.com/Il5J4jJ.jpg |
 nice work man!

I just remounted the tires that I had on the Enkei NT03s...trying to keep the OEM tire diameter:
275/40/18 up front...NT555 305/35/18 in back...NT555R...probably switching to NT05s later |
hey dan, you got the same exact tires that i had on my 18's
if you need an extra set on either fronts or rears lemme know, i need to get rid of these asap bc im moving. |
How much did that whole top mount kit run you from VSR an did they take your stillen supercharger for some of the payment

Blackstone oil analysis
1 Attachment(s)
Decided to start doing oil analysis because I was curious what the results would be after being boosted over 2 years with over 20,000 miles. I'm happy with the initial results and curious to see the next results.
"We certainly don't see any issues in this first sample from your 370Z. In fact, what we do see are wear levels that look better than the universal averages for Nissan's VQ37VHR engine. Those averages are based on about 5,100 miles on the oil, so your interval was just a little shorter, and as you can see, your metals look great in comparison. The only marks are for the mildly thin viscosity, which is fine, and the 0.5% fuel dilution, which is also fine and probably due to the cold sampling you mentioned. All in all, we think you have a nice, healthy engine here!" |
I haven't posted up here in a while....I've been unemployed for over a year now; using my GI Bill to go back to school and about to finish up a Nuclear Med Tech program this summer. Still have the bug to mod though so fancied up the tires. Everything is still going strong on the car though.
https://i.imgur.com/CaYHuWf.jpg I was running the Nitto drag radials as daily for a while and they finally got too bald so just got a pair of their new NT 555 Gen 2 tires to replace 'em. Unfortunately the widest size they had was 275 so I'm running 275 square now, but I'm cool with it because "student status" and just street driving now. https://i.imgur.com/poXZDzk.jpg |
does VSR still offer this kit? cant seem to get ahold of them

So after years of running boosted with this kit I finally started experiencing an issue: for about a month while idling at a light, lots of smoke would start to come out of the exhaust...like a smoke screen. I checked all the fluids (coolant/oil) and everything was the same. I got all panicky and took everything apart and took the turbo out because I thought something was broken.
https://i.imgur.com/ZB5Evvt.jpg After talking with a lot of shops/people, it was assumed that a seal had broken. But after researching things online....I think the problem was as simple as a dirty air filter. I remember when I took everything apart, the filter looked pretty jammed up from pollen, sand, dirt, debris and it was like a vacuum cleaner filter when you hit it against something to clean it. Junk just fell from it like crazy. So I think that the restriction there was causing the pressure build up in the turbo at idle to let oil get in the exhaust and smoke it out. I would test this theory but while putting everything back together a t-clamp for the charge pipe broke, so waiting on that....should find out tomorrow, but I'm sure thats all it was. I also thought I'd tackle the headlight mods while everything was apart :P https://i.imgur.com/TN1wuCQ.jpg https://i.imgur.com/dXMg2t2.jpg |
