Yeah, all the red came from the previous owner (Dan) who did the red/black theme for the kit. Johnny got the car and basically ripped the SC off and did a single T quickly.

Oh really? I thought it was his car from day one lol. He made it seem like he had done all the work to it. Cuz JTran said they had it all coated red for him. Hmm idk.

theDreamer 04-22-2014 12:43 PM

The work was all done by JTran for the previous owner.

Missed the dyno update somehow, man those are killer numbers. I like seeing successful Stillen builds.

Thank you! Its coming along pretty good! Got a list of stuff planned for it over the summer!

Talked with my tuner today he actually suggested putting the stock cats in. Said that with superchargers the back pressure helps alot. Hes seen a couple psi increase doing so. I might do that here soon see how it goes.

Also ordering the frozen boost intercooler and some "Mo Cool" made by motul. This should keep the air 30+ degrees cooler

Remember with a SC it is about balancing efficiency of everything, a lower boost result does not mean less power it just means the system is running more efficiently. I see it all the time with Mustang guys, they have LTH and go from 10 to 8 psi but maintain power because the system is operating better.

Also, with your plans of e85 and other upgrades I would advise keeping the stock cats off as this will hurt later on. Plus stock cats can burn up and get clogged, have had a couple go out on mine with my SC so just threw on some TP.

Hmm thats a good point. Ill have to research some more on it. But that makes sense. Headers are going to increase scavenging and so do tp so the air gets pulled out quicker but during the compression process it will have a more pure mixture versus some already spent gasses like co2 and co that take up that space in the mixture. Clearing it out will reduce pressure but will make for a more pure mixture to burn.

Also speak with your tuner about VVEL in Uprev, many shops have been tuning with it for awhile now and this might help with a SC and allow better control of air in/out of the system to optimize the setup especially with an open exhaust system with minimal restrictions.

Yeah i dont think he touched vvel. Im not sure hes too familiar with it since its a pretty new thing. I know jtran is doing it but not sure if jms is. Ill ask him. Have to make a stop by there friday before nismofiesta

LukasC 04-22-2014 06:05 PM

Heck if jms isnt comfortable i could just go straight to uprev its only an hour and a half from my house

This Z seems familiar, I have seen one just like it around my town a few different times. But I live in Denton, TX not San Antonio...
