I tackled these this weekend and had an issue like some with the header studs stripping out. Luckily i was able to chase the threads with a tap and die set however it was nearly a bust. I found that my secret weapon here was my other half who is a mechanic as well. Her arms can get down behind the headers and she did a lot of the confined space work.
http://www.the370z.com/members/mozen...found-best.jpg Here you can see the thread tool as i chase the threads on the block. http://www.the370z.com/members/mozen...read-holes.jpg ...and here you can see the smoke rising from the headers thanks to the DEI wrap. I actually had people trying to get me out of the car at a stop light on the way home because they thought the engine was on fire. http://www.the370z.com/members/mozen...e-dei-wrap.jpg Sorry for the pics being sideways....im too lazy to go back and rotate them then re-upload. |
Nice Z....

Z1 2 Piece Rotors are on the way for the front. Ill switch out the Front/Rear pads at the same time to a set of Hawk HPS.

And z1 rotors are here and installed along with a full set of racing brake pads. Love em. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/08/23/ty8ejezy.jpg

Love the white. Not a huge fan of the design though with the cross bar on the main hoop not being inline with the main hoop. In a roll over the only top support is the main hoop since that cross bars angled backwards. |
Nice build. The strut brace is dope.
I'm hoping to install the same headers this weekend and bolt them on to my Z1 HFC's + Invidia CBE. How do you like yours? |
This thread wins

So back to updating! Lots of stuff has gone on in the meantime.
I have installed New upper arms in the front. http://www.the370z.com/members/mozen...upper-arms.jpg Made my own CF Skinned switch plate covers http://www.the370z.com/members/mozen...-011348403.jpg Installed a GTM Oil pan and added a boost, oil PSI, and Air Fuel Guage (boost is for next year) http://www.the370z.com/members/mozen...33-gtm-pan.jpg Since i added the guages i needed a place to put them...so i created my own out of the way pod cluster. The idea here was to keep them out of the way and not clutter up the dash. I know some dont like them but, just reference gauges so it works for me. All told since this was the first time i made something like this the prototypes and final version took a solid 15 hours or so to make of on and off work. http://www.the370z.com/members/mozen...stom-pod-3.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/mozen...stom-pod-1.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/mozen...stom-pod-2.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/mozen...stom-pod-4.jpg |
I Also added Tein Mono Sport Suspension with EDFC Active Pro and GPS along with a custom fabricated 3" Brake Cooling kit.
I have also installed the RJM Clutch pedal for better engagement with my SPEC Stage 2+ Clutch and flywheel and added the Z1 HD CSC kit to pull the CSC out of the transmission. http://www.the370z.com/members/mozen...edfc-front.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/mozen...-edfc-rear.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/mozen...831-165750.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/mozen...4-brakes-2.jpg |
