Plus, you're not running exhaust gas through it, so I'd think you would be fine without it.

yeah I know but this car has heat issues.

Chuck33079 07-30-2013 06:24 PM

You would have to use header wrap. Those blankets are usually shaped for the hot side of a turbo, and you only have a compressor side. I'm not even sure what part of the sc you could wrap.

dmhenderson 07-30-2013 06:50 PM

Thermal coating on all of the IC piping and titanium heat wrap on the headers already done :)

So Nissan is going to warranty everything out but I have to wait til Friday for everything :/ but its like $500 worth of sensors

dmhenderson 07-30-2013 07:36 PM

lol what the hell did you do man?

MyKindaGuise 07-30-2013 09:01 PM

Nothing. Headlight randomly went out. Tpms has been bad for a year and wheel speed sensor went bad yesterday.

A dealership quoted me $150 each for TPMS sensors, and $50 each for the install. I laughed to myself.

Debating whether or not to order the ones online for $40 each instead. Just gonna be pissed if I get them, and have the dealership sync them, and then they still don't work.

Damn...that's a lot. I'd look for a used set on here honestly I think all 4 will go for $200.

Yeah I've been conversing with that guy. I just can't justify that price for a set when I could get aftermarket ones for $40 less...

Though the chance of aftermarket sensors not syncing with the ECU because nissan ECUs suck anus. :shakes head:

I'd buy them. Use what you need and then just wait for people to come along who need sensors and part them out. $55 a piece shipped would be quite reasonable.

I need all 4 that's the problem... :icon17:

When I sold my stock wheels, I sold them wheels/tires/tpms as one unit, easier to sell.

When I bought my aftermarket wheels, I bought aftermarket TPMS, no big deal. What I didn't realize was that in 2010, they changed the part number. So the part number I listed for my aftermarket TPMS was wrong, hence why they don't work...

So I've gotta replace them with the correct part number TPMS sensors. :icon17:

Ah this all makes sense now haaha. Idk I would still buy the OEM. $40 isn't worth the potential headache.

With a SC you should be fine then, the only real next step would to look into heat extraction from the engine bay. You hit all the major points on the system for controlling it, maybe a vented hood in the future?
