Found a free moment to install Baer383's slick A pillar gauge pod. Much better than the old setup with the gauge cups bolted to the OEM pillar. Attachment 73199

Broke down and bought a set of Nismo wheels. Now to decide the color. Most likely something like the KAV on the 40th Zs. I'll get the side markers painted to match. Hopefully I get enough out of selling the Sport wheels to continue my addiction.

Chuck33079 09-14-2013 11:32 AM

Picked up the wheels from the painters and threw them on. Quick pics, excuse the filthy car. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/09/15/u2eryje7.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/09/15/2ajy5a2e.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/09/15/ymu6ubyq.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/09/15/jugytumu.jpg

Some more pics. Better light, cleaner car.

Wow. Apparently Michael J Fox was holding the camera for one of those.

Chuck33079 09-18-2013 07:50 AM

Woohoo! The wheels looked good for all of two days. Got a nice rock chip due to Houston's ******* constant road construction. It sucks when the road was fine when you leave for work in the morning, and ****** up when you come home at night. Oh well. I knew it would happen eventually, just not in two days. Time to find a matching shade of touch up paint somewhere.

Chuck33079 09-29-2013 02:59 PM

Killed a rainy Sunday morning painting the engine cover.

Sweet. Got my tune scheduled for next month. Now I've just got to do some basic housekeeping stuff to be ready. The only downside is the dyno the tuner uses is a real heartbreaker. Oh well. I'll take it to the same dyno where I did my baseline to see the finished product.

theDreamer 10-24-2013 02:53 PM

Kozmic?

Yep. Paul recommended them pretty highly. Coincidentally, they rebuild my old STi after the guy I sold it to blew it up. :rofl2:

I need to finish up a few items so I can go back and finish my WOT tables 100%. Everything else I had problems with they worked out, but working on WOT we ran into some minor issues. So not driving super hard right now, but the car drives so much better than before.

This tune should hold me as long as I'm still on the stock block. I'm not being super aggressive.

Yeah, Eric asked how I wanted it tuned and I said DD.
So he is not going to push every last little bit out, he can if you want to see what he can run and then dial back but no need really because then you will want the power. :driving:

My goal is just under 500whp dynojet, so maybe 410 on their dyno.

theDreamer 10-24-2013 03:25 PM

One of the guys in Houston who just finished his GTM TT kit with a 7AT put down 450 on their dyno.

We talked about that. He's internally gated and they had an issue not being able to lower boost. I'm external with a boost controller, so I should be ok. 450 on their dyno is past my comfort level for a daily driver.

Yeah, Chris has been having fun with his car after boost.

Ill bet. That's a 550whp car on a dynojet for sure.

Dzel 10-24-2013 03:45 PM

What shop are you guys talking about? I have looked into JTran, Precision R, and JMS Racing. There was another shop Dyno something but they need the kit and car in hand to let me know any info.

Kozmic. If I were having a kit put on, I'd use them or SSP. Jason at SSP put my kit on when he was still at Baker Tuning. I like Johnny at JTran, but I'm not too impressed with some of his mechanics.

Dzel 10-24-2013 03:54 PM

Thanks I'll google them and see if they can give me a price for some supporting mods and instalation/tuning

Didn't realize you were local. I can't vouch for their parts prices. I always source everything for a build and hand it over to the installer. Hell, this is the first car I've farmed out the install.

Dzel 10-24-2013 04:02 PM

Good to know I'll get a price from them i just sent the email, more than likely I'll purchase the oil cooler from GTM. Ceramic coating will probably be done here in town.

Chuck33079 11-21-2013 11:32 AM

Christmas is coming early for the car. Getting it retuned Saturday, and swapping my stock wheels for a set of CF side skirts. Which is convenient, since I was going to use the proceeds from selling the wheels to buy side skirts.

New CSF radiator to replace the leaky one, silicone radiator hoses, a new thermostat, a fan for the oil cooler and a tranny/diff fluid change. Then off to get the ac refilled tomorrow and to have the old radiator welded up so I can sell it and try to recoup some of my costs.

VDC_OFF 02-07-2014 05:44 PM

Btw the all the sensors were bad. Had to buy another set :/

Chuck33079 02-07-2014 05:47 PM

The tpms? How? Do they go bad from sitting? They were just fine when the wheels came off the car.

VDC_OFF 02-07-2014 05:49 PM

I guess the batteries died in them. None of them would read

Chuck33079 02-07-2014 05:50 PM

That's really strange. They worked fine on my car, and they only sat for a month or two. Who was trying to reprogram them?

VDC_OFF 02-07-2014 05:51 PM

Discount tires. It's cool I found another set off the forums

Chuck33079 02-07-2014 05:53 PM

Cool. If you've still got them you should let another place have a shot at them. It's pretty unlikely that all of them would fail or run out of battery at the exact same time after being off the car for a month or two.

Chuck33079 02-08-2014 12:12 AM

Radiator and condenser in. Radiator hoses on. Thermostat in. Oil cooler fan installed but not wired up. The rest can wait until tomorrow.

Chuck33079 02-08-2014 12:14 AM

Also, the Top Secret side skirts are coming off. They make it hard to use the lift, and that's just not going to work for me.

Dzel 02-08-2014 01:06 AM

Are you just going to leave the stock ones on?

Chuck33079 02-08-2014 07:27 AM

Most likely.

Dzel 02-08-2014 08:34 AM

How much lower doors the front lip make the front end? I run truck jacks in my garage to get a higher clearance. I either use the factory jack to get the cat high enough to get the big jack under. Or I drive on to a piece of 2x4 to clear it.

Dzel 02-08-2014 08:34 AM

Fixing to buy me a front lip is why I ask?
