Love it, god bless your auto

Please upgrade your diff!
Although maybe in AUS you get the VSLD standard
And wheels please? You gotta put that power down and those don't have enough rubber

Post pics of it hood open! :-)

DEpointfive0 01-02-2013 03:42 AM

No overheating issues with the stock bumper?

Wonka2581 01-02-2013 04:02 AM

Very Nice ride!!! I def want twin turbos!!!!!:tiphat:

Z-Girl 12 01-02-2013 04:07 AM

Awesome build, but an auto tranny on such a beast?

Damn straight!

If it's built right, more power to you!

G37Sam 01-02-2013 04:14 AM

Great build! Why did you only go with the below though?

- Denso 600cc Injectors
- Walbro 255 Fuel Pump

I'm pretty sure you're maxed out now

Coon-azz 01-02-2013 09:16 AM

Freaking Epic!
could you get us some sound and video? Would love to see this beast roll.

Jordo! 01-02-2013 02:27 PM

Wow -- awesome build!

Is the current GTM flexplate broken and you need another one or did the OEM one fail and is now upgraded?

muetze.glatze 01-02-2013 02:52 PM

Wow

Mr&Mrs 01-02-2013 05:59 PM

Nice build! x2 with the fuel mods????

GaleForce 01-02-2013 06:16 PM

Very nice

Jasonle 01-02-2013 06:26 PM

:yum::yum::yum:

bullitt5897 01-02-2013 06:54 PM

Awesome build!!!

... However, your not getting the full potential out of your 4.2L. GT30's would be more suited for your displacement. Also running a DW300 fuel pump and a fuel return system along with 1000cc injectors would be better suited for the use of a 4.2L application.

just my 2cents...

All in all GREAT BUILD! Enjoy a fun car!

Beastz 01-03-2013 03:43 AM

Thanks for all the awesome feedback guys

Yes the poor auto
Diff will also be done as well in the near future
Unsure of what we have stock, maybe something to check out
Wheels - All i will say is by Forged Wheels - 19/9.5+16 and 19/11+12, i will chuck up a sneaky pic soon. As for tyres i will be running 19/30/265 and 19/30or35/295or305

Will also post a pic of the engine bay.

Nope no issues thus far - the car has been driven around in 30+ degree days, was a thought to of removing the sensors that are on either side of the fangs for a bit more air flow.

AT is the same as from when i bought it back at the start of 2011, we have been tossing around the idea of going DCT or Sequential.

Thats just what came with the complete kit, pump and injectors will go bigger once the new F-Con and full tune happens.

The OEM one cracked within the first week of getting the car back, from there we ordered the GTM Flex plate which also didn't stand up. Currently waiting for a new one to be sent, from there we are looking at custom making a billet one or strengthening the GTM one by riveting a plate onto it.

Cheers for the input all taken into conern, as previously said to the other replies, this is all just a start as it is the first in Aus to be Stroked and TT, i agree with the fuel setup needing adjustments. We want to see how the turbo's go when we up to the boost to at least 14psi. But first things first and thats finding out how to overcome the gearbox/tranny issues.

DEpointfive0 01-03-2013 04:08 AM

Keep it a beastly auto!!!
Show the world the power of auto!!!

divineelnur 01-03-2013 04:42 AM

First off, congrats on getting your build done!

Those turbos are sound asleep though, especially with your low compression engine.

We've installed a large number of systems making well over 450whp on the stock transmission and stock flex plate and never had any issues. Something isn't right for you to have two flex plate failures at this power level especially just after the engine was installed.

The only reason for the flex plate to be failing like that is due to a misalignment between the transmission and the engine. In fact, a misalignment is a very common cause for flex plate failure.

You know, since your engine was removed for this build, I'm wondering if they reinstalled the dowel pins for aligning the transmission to the engine. Also, it is very likely that when the transmission was being installed, the dowel pins may have been pushed into their bores. Sometimes, people will not have the transmission lined up on the dowel pins and simply force the transmission onto the engine and end up pushing those alignment pins in. That is the only reason you would have flex plate failure so quickly like that and in such quick succession. A slight misalignment will overstress the flex plate and cause it to fail extremely quickly.

Keep in mind that our flex plate is treated to have better fatigue strength than the stock flex plate. Even still, it is vulnerable to improper installation. Not even a billet unit will stand up to improper alignment.

Beastz 01-04-2013 09:33 PM

Thanks Mike

Do you think that the extra torque from the stroke could be the problem?

Bigviet23 01-23-2013 09:55 PM

When are these getting mounted?

wdkwang 03-13-2013 12:17 AM

maybe this will be the 1000hp black dragon, as opposed to the 4.2L white dragon

Jordo! 03-13-2013 01:35 AM

Definitely looking forward to dynos

Mr&Mrs 03-13-2013 04:55 PM

I doubt it would happen but a 1k HP 7AT would be pretty sick.

SPOHN 03-13-2013 05:01 PM

Hugh props. Nice to see the FCON is going to be used. Makes a high difference.

Punk86 03-13-2013 05:16 PM

New gearbox is going strong, the new plate is fine with the power at the moment.

No mods to the transmission yet.

The plate was a custom made one by a mate of mine that does mining fabrications here in Brisbane.

The build took about 10 months from taking the engine out to getting it back from the shop.
