Finally finished my sound deadening (only for the trunk) and put my trunk back together today! Took a looong time the first time I started putting this stuff down, but the second layer literally took me less than half the time of the first one. I guess first time always takes the longest

Put 50 sq ft of fatmat in the trunk of my car, tried my best to cover the wheel wells and stuff from the inside. Covered my entire trunk, twice (2 layers of fatmat). Really helped dampen the drone of my exhaust
http://sphotos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/hphoto...66699327_n.jpg

Put on a bunch of insulation for more dampening since it felt like it worked pretty well on my hybrid
http://sphotos-e.ak.fbcdn.net/hphoto...40074306_n.jpg

The foam thing for the floor wouldn't fit anymore because of my insulation, so had to trim it a bit but it fit fine afterwards
http://sphotos-e.ak.fbcdn.net/hphoto...89118833_n.jpg

Put the side trims and foam in
http://sphotos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/hphoto...56173850_n.jpg

Since I decided to keep my spare tire out, there was no floor so the original trunk carpet sunk down and revealed all my insulation :/ Didn't look so great
http://sphotos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphoto...06429858_n.jpg

So I bought some trunk carpet from Canadian Tire, cut it to fit my trunk and covered the floor of my trunk with it :) Put the original carpet back overtop. Finally my trunk looks like a trunk again instead of a baking pan!

Ire 02-25-2013 01:18 AM

where does your sub go if your spare is gone? doesnt it screw into the middle?

.c2 02-25-2013 02:19 AM

I have a US imported base model w/ sports package, so it didn't come with the bose speakers or sub :( Thinking about getting a small sub to stick in the part of the trunk where the foam is, since I want the extra space in the main compartment of the trunk lol

nismo 1234 02-26-2013 01:58 AM

man you're fast! only took you like a week to repair and get your lip back on..

.c2 02-26-2013 04:39 AM

Haha yeah, really couldn't stand the look of my car with the sides, rear, wheels, and no front lip :( And luckily this was the week that I had a break from my classes, so I fixed everything as soon as I could

.c2 02-27-2013 04:23 AM

http://sphotos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphoto...15483488_n.jpg

Shots turned out horrible, and car was dirty lool. Keeps raining these days :/

.c2 02-28-2013 02:12 AM

Got my EVO R diffuser the other day, propped it up against the car just to see how it would look :) Now just need to find time to install this along with the rear fog..
http://sphotos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphoto...49829875_n.jpg

Jasonle 02-28-2013 05:15 AM

car is looking good! glad you got the lip back on

.c2 03-02-2013 03:09 AM

Thanks! :)

.c2 03-09-2013 03:05 PM

Previous owner wrapped the interior trims in 3m di noc carbon fiber, and I didn't like them much so I rewrapped them in 3m 1080 gloss black metallic :) It's like gloss black, but less prone to scratches and has flakes in it
http://sphotos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/hphoto...36198514_n.jpg

And some more pictures of it's how it's currently sitting;

So since this is my daily driver, my goal is to make this more fun to drive and also more comfortable to drive to some extent. This means that I do not want an all out performance car (stripped interior for maximum weight saving kinda thing), but I also do not want to make it toooo slow by adding a 1000lbs sound system. However, I do like music obviously... and since my base model w/ sports package doesn't come with a sub, I added in one myself :) Goal here was to have a good amount of bass, but not take too much space or add too much weight. So got a small little 10" JL sub, a Phoenix gold 500w amp and it is already way more than enough for me. Can't even max out the sub without feeling uncomfortable

https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.n...66397484_n.jpg

Save money where I can, and learn while doing it :) So wiring up everything with the help of my friend
https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.n...61736826_n.jpg

Hooked up the power wire so the battery trim kind of blocks the power wire and fuse. Ran it through the trims and underneath the carpet
https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.n...67466447_n.jpg

Sub mounted on the shelf behind my seat, since I can't reach there anyways from my seat so it doesn't affect me :) Right against the seat means I feel the sub a lot more too lol. Amp is mounted behind my seat so it's not in the way, and I can still adjust gains and whatnot fairly easily. Not taking up much space, and not too in your face. Actually turned it around so the sub is facing the back after a few days, having the sub pound on my back wasn't too comfy lol
https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.n...80472608_n.jpg

https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.n...72844975_n.jpg

Got my ipad mini mounted the other day since my deck doesn't have navi. I stream music and videos through bluetooth. The ipad is easily removable and the lid can also be put back on easily via magnets. Will post more pictures later :)
https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.n...98965522_n.jpg

I.C.E is almost done, just need to sound deaden the doors and put in some better speakers :)

Annnddd looks like my front lip was not meant to be. This time the lip itself actually gave away, the bolts still held it in place, but the rest of the lip cracked at the mounting point and just flew off right when I shifted. This time it cracked and gave away and I ran over it, and it also tore off my sideskirt... Remains of the front lip and sideskirt
https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.n...78869913_n.jpg

https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.n...33955793_n.jpg

And somehow my fender liner also popped out and my tire ate it up... luckily my friends were able to temp. hold it on enough so I could drive home still with the left over 3m tape on my bumper. Thank god for them, never would have thought about that myself
https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.n...32006015_n.jpg

Pretty choked, but I guess it's bound to happen eventually... Missed the big local spring meet, but it's not too big of a problem. Harsh on my wallet, but put in the order for a full one piece front bumper this time. Also bought the sides and rear to match... Big plans for the summer :)

nismo 1234 03-25-2013 05:03 PM

which kit did you end up going with??

.c2 03-25-2013 05:41 PM

People in vancouver with the amuse kit aren't going to like it, lool :X

.c2 04-11-2013 10:14 PM

Finally installed my TWM short shifter today, took a loot longer than expected but definitely worth it :) Love the feel, even though it's a bit rough for dd
https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.n...94638561_n.jpg

Wrapped the cubby thing in 'pleather' fabric from fabricana to make it look a bit more presentable during the day. iPad mini and the cover are both held on by magnets. Pretty sturdy, doesn't fall or move when I rip the car lol

OEM goodies :)
https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.n...48913300_n.jpg

Looks like it has a different harness than the ones produced in the earlier years..? Still easy plug and play though

Brought a big box back today from the states :) Barely fit in the van!
https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.n...36830325_n.jpg

Test fitting it before bringing it over to paint on Monday, from Shine Auto. Fits pretty well actually. No bolts holding the edges up to the fender in the test fitting picture because I was lazy
https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.n...46980879_n.jpg

.c2 04-16-2013 04:55 PM

Test fit the rest and they do fit fairly good :) Bolts straight on

https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.n...10484434_n.jpg

No room to take a head on shot of the rear, garage is too small :(
https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.n...94480370_n.jpg

Stock sideskirt vs amuse, 2" lower... Looks like I'll have to raise my car :( Not looking forward to that

https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.n...64545881_n.jpg

Only tape is holding this up lol so it's sagging a little bit

Off to paint you go! See you in a week :D

Been a bit lazy to update.. but it's on :) Spent over 12 hours drilling holes and mounting it on, along with raising coils a bit and doing things here and there to make the fender liner fit. Still need to get my rear foglight out and slap it on the amuse rear and also do something about the rear rebar... License plate is mounted to the front rebar :) So no holes in the bumper. Been working on my car from after I get off work till I sleep for the past few days, so need a break from it. Foglight can go on later

Shadezz 04-28-2013 05:56 PM

Did you sell the evo side blades? I'm keeping my factory side skirts and just wanna add the evo blades.

Let me know buddy!! Other than that your car looks amazing!!!! NOW GET SOME REST!!

Shadezz 04-28-2013 05:59 PM

Are you planning to leave the white Styrofoam in the rear or spray it black?? I wanna tell my shop to do this before they install the rear bumper....

.c2 04-29-2013 02:06 AM

One of my sideblades actually have 3 inches or so snapped off on the highway :/ I am selling the damaged passenger sideblade and mint driver sideblade if you're interested, loool. As for the rear, I took out the styrofoam thing but haven't painted the bar black yet. I need to do that, the silver looks disgusting lol

Shadezz 04-29-2013 07:57 AM

Cool thanks for letting me know.. I think I'll have the body shop then remove the foam and paint the grey cross beam black so it look amazing. As far as the side evo blade....to bad its damaged or Id be all over it!! Again you car looks amazing buddy!!! Remember to put your rear fog in this week!!

sfearl1 04-29-2013 09:43 AM

I love it man. I'm not a fan of the high spoiler on the amuse kit. You knocked it out of the park tho with keeping the oem spoiler. Nice work

No problem man, thanks for the compliments :) Yeah sigh, I can't even really sell them because of the damage :( Will work on it later this week and hopefully have it wired up and ready to go!

Thanks bro :) I'm not a big fan of it either, even though the amuse kit is kinda aggressive I don't really like flashy things so I didn't go for the big wing haha. Thinking about getting a duckbill spoiler later, but don't like the look of a two piece since the rest of my kit is just one piece (full bumper as opposed to a lip on a bumper) so I might just get a one piece duckbill spoiler later..

To be honest, I am not a fan of the duckbill spoiler. It reminds me of a pringle or something. Idk. I'd say the Mine's add on would look just right if you're going to add anything

.c2 05-01-2013 02:25 AM

Hahah pringle:bowrofl: Well right now I think I'm actually okay with the stock spoiler surprisingly! :) Lets hope I'll be okay with it for a while until I can save up enough money for a good one piece one haha

Went on a fun drive today and got some pictures taken while driving by a muchhh better photographer than I am as you can tell by these pictures! :)

https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.n...83693245_n.jpg

Already raised my car quite a bit and I can fly through 95% of potholes without a problem (as long as they're not insane of course) so driveability is great so far :) Which is what I need, function over form (but still with form). I did scrape once today though through a 8 hour long drive and it sounded horrible :( So might need to raise it a bit more again...

tibal 05-24-2013 02:58 PM

Looks so awesome. I love the progress you have made.

Makes me really contemplate parting out my add on lip kit and purchasing a nice Amuse or similar kit.

Great work and nice shots!

definitionxmk 05-24-2013 03:34 PM

^agree. car looks great!

.c2 06-04-2013 03:29 AM

Thanks guys :)

So I registered my car in a team along with a few friends and some members on here as well for Importfest :D Getting my car ready for it this coming Sunday

Finally got my 20% rear tint on
https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.n...44594535_n.jpg

Changed the brake pads to Hawk HPS and rotors to stoptech slotted ones, all around :)
https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.n...30142895_n.jpg
Rear rotor was rusted on, but nothing a nice sledgehammer can't fix.. lol

On, and hipstergramed! (Instagram) :) lol

Got my new tires mounted today, Michelin Pilot Super Sport 305/30/19 rear and 265/35/19 front!

Just waiting to pick up my Mine's CF spoiler add on replica from UAM, and need to figure out how to get my OEM rear fog out and onto the new bumper and it'll be pretty much done for the show!

sfearl1 06-04-2013 09:07 AM

 glad you chose the Mine's over the pringle lol.. and the new stance is perfect!!!

.c2 06-05-2013 11:45 PM

Finally picked up the spoiler today

Test fitting
https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.n...63831499_n.jpg

Installed!
https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.n...45474937_n.jpg

My rear looks really sunk in this picture since I took off my 15mm spacers because they were rubbing when I go through really extreme angles and 3 wheel (which is everyday, because I do that on my driveway every time I go in/out). Getting some 10mm spacers, just have to source them so until then it will look kinda stupid :(

I believe i have a 10mm H&R spacers rolling around somewhere in my garage. you could grab it before the show ;)

So that means you drill the amuse kits by yourself at your house with just easy find tools from homedepot ?
my kit is arriving and think i have to do the thing myself before throwing the kit on bodyshop for painting, body shop workers are all llazy *** (unless you give them lot of money)

Also, 2000$ for painting ? read somewhere it cost you 2000$. Seriously ? :bowrofl::bowrofl:

.c2 06-07-2015 08:05 PM

Completely forgot to update this thread, maybe I'll start to do it more often. Lots of things happened in the past 2 years, just a basic gist of things:

Rewrapped my interior trims (windows and shifter bezel) in a 3m brushed black metal
https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...56197162_o.jpg

Got a new Momo mod. 08 steering wheel along with a works bell short hub
https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...48533533_o.jpg

Picture of the Momo with my old NRG short hub and my NRG 2.8 gen quick release
https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...02971783_o.jpg

Installed my goodridge SS brake lines in preparation for track
https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...61535844_o.jpg

Bled the brakes, transmission, and clutch fluid as well as changed oil and checked the diff fluid
https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...98817890_o.jpg

First track day!
https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...25739226_o.jpg

https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...96282267_o.jpg

And oil temperatures were bad during track day, had to run it super carefully which watching out for my oil temp to prevent over heating. So bought a Stillen 25 row oil cooler and installed it. Looks great, nice and subtle but I had to relocate my plate for better air flow
https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...56900443_o.jpg

Power steering pump died, so had to replace the pump..
https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...89016623_o.jpg

To do so I had to take off my bumper and the passenger side intake
https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...45806733_o.jpg

Been taking off my bumper at least twice a month for the past few months.. so decided to get some bumper quick release tabs to make it much easier to do. Picked up a set of blue ones by BWR to match my lugs and exhaust tips, and VI sticker lmao
https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...0a&oe=55F7205C

https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...82&oe=55F0698B

And I made my car into a 3 seater. Just kidding, got rid of my Sparco's for a nice and snug Bride Zeta III
https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...c9&oe=55FEED57

And then recently swapped out my Invidia catback for a Motordyne E370. Absolutely love the exhaust
https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...68242025_o.jpg

So lots have changed! Mostly on the inside and not much on the exterior, but yeah
https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...77&oe=55FA76AF
