I like the size of them. But they stick out a little too far for my tastes.

Good looking ride!

From the angles posted you really cannot tell.

Not sure if it even sticks out that much.

Need more pics. Looks sick!

Can they go in any further? They look to big, hard to tell. I like the look better then my ovals but not how far they appear to stick out. Also if they are touching any of your paint it will burn it so make sure they dont.

Z RATED OKC 11-25-2012 12:26 PM

Yeah I can push them back further I thought the tips sticking out would look cool but I've grown to dis like it so I'm moving them back

Great looking tips for the cutouts Blake, congrats. I agree with you, it sticks out a little bit and need to push it in a little bit. Once, you're done with this, you will have a great looking Z with an outstanding kit! My own issues, after looking at photos, I've come to the conclusion that if you're going with a Zele kit, you better be ready to cut your exhaust tips and have funds set aside for quad tips. Unless you have a Zele exhaust. By design, the Zele cutout screams PUT QUAD TIPS ON ME PLEASE! I do not see it working with a dual tip design just because the cutout is simply too large. Sticking a dual on a quad cutout or even just the layout does not work for me. You have to have a quad period. That's just my opinion. That's how Zele designed it and that's how it should flow. No offense to a bunch of others who will not be taking that direction. You did it right by making that decision to cut the tips, order a quad and weld it to your exhaust. Not ready to do that with my F.I. As much as I love the look (believe me, I am this close buying this and just working out the details with DTM through LCR for the paint and install), I am still on the far side of the fence. Lee from LCR said that they've used FI on the cut outs and should be fine. Regardless of my personal taste and issue about this, I'm loving the look of your car bro!

I would love to know how they used the F.I with quad tips. There was no way it would work with mine without losing the mufflers and I was not willing to do that at this time. Maybe it works with the 2.5" F.I, but I have the 3".

The guy still had to cut my mufflers off and move them to make it work. As you know they were to low, and not even close to center when I cut them off. This may be an option you need to explore.

I think the way the painter put the black around the holes throws off the look. It is way better in person, he did not understand what paint the whole diffuser black meant....

The large ovals look like it would work especially with the entire diffusser blacked out as you originally planned. Hope you get it painted soon to what you had intended. It would look great I think. Where did you get the oval tips? I'm finding you have to have quite a commitment on these puppies to make it work.

Spoke to LCR about the paint job on my PW Z and he mentioned something about a MB Z they had done a Zele with, he probably meant you. Said no issues with paint matching but had a little hesitation with the PW. Cant understand why.

Mr&Mrs 11-26-2012 09:10 AM

I have nothing to do with LCR. My kit is authentic and can be verified with Mark at Bullet Proof Automotive (370ztune).

The ovals came out great but I still would rather have quad tips like the OP's. I am still sourcing around to find something that will work and allow me to keep my 3" axle back. I want to recover some funds though first, these tips are not cheap. I think these ovals were around 400.00 for the pair.

Got it. Thanks for the clarification. Really like how it looks but find it challenging to make it look right with dual exhaust systems regardless of where they come from. In the end I think ovals will work with blacked out diffusers as you have planned out.
