Low offset is deeper shape
High offset is flat

With 370Z/350Z/GTR because Nissan designed the cars with a lot of brake clearance, you are able to run a low offset wheel. On cars like the new Audi/VW/Lamborghini/Ferrari, they do not allow for Low offset specs, will require a Medium or High offset profiles. Which makes the wheels flat in shape.

You can read more about offset here.

Gotcha. As we get closer to a "0" offset we're pushing the wheel outward which make it a "deeper" look/conical. Wonder why I was suggest those original offsets then of +32/+34?

Will do. Tires were delivered yesterday. No word on the wheels status.

Robert_K 03-22-2012 12:47 PM

Just received this from HRE; "The wheels are in the machine shop and are expected to be completed beginning of next week."

Nice. Looking forward to seeing your HRE wheels. They are on my short list for wheels to buy, just need to get my aero bits sorted first.

memorylasts 03-23-2012 11:58 AM

OP updated and i think i got most of it in there.... if not it will be in another update.

Robert_K 03-23-2012 12:04 PM

I notice you considering a rear diff. If that's your street car I'd go Quaife. I had one in my Evo 8 and having one install with my engine build currently. Trust me you'll love it!!!! BTW: Went with the KW V3's as well w/ SPL Front Upper and rear camber arms.

Car looks real good man!!! I'm jealous.

Quaife and OS Giken are my choices. At the time when I did my suspension camber arms from SPL weren't in full swing for the 370, so i had to go for SPC, might switch, but as of now im not having problems.

No need to be jealous! You will be plenty happy when you get home.

I have about a quarter inch +- in the rear left, my overall drop is low, I'll measure ground to center of fender wells in a bit, I'll say its about 26" ~+.5 last time I measured it was this but I've been playing with it a lot lately with small adjustment here and there.

I have ~ one finger clearance in between the tire and fend in other front about 1.5 in the rear.

Don't copy my wheels! :gtfo2: Bad enough that Memory has a set on his Z but he's in Cali. You're local!!! :icon23:

:happydance:

Ron 03-25-2012 12:58 PM

lol who said I am copying ur wheels? I am looking into getting KWs and was told they don't have much adjustment on the rear as far as height goes.

:bowrofl: Just busting your bawls a bit. I went with the KW V3's for my Z33. A lot of GREAT reviews on them in the 350Z world. Copycat.

Ron 03-25-2012 01:15 PM

If they made that face with a step lip I'd be all over them!

Im really happy with my V3's in terms of going low enough they do the job for me... I have them tuned the way i want, and it handles pretty darn well for being so low. Also if you remove the coller in the rear you are looking at a half inch + on the rears.

This is also at half a tank so it sits slightly high then when a full tank is dropping the rear another 1/8-1/4". I also put my spare back in to bring the rear down more, and i like the weight of it where it is, so with the little bit left i have i could tuck if i really wanted to... but then i wouldn't have any bottom of my car lef with the roads here. Graned they are better then in some other places, im also not any lower due to the fact that in order to get in and out of my garage i have to use ramps, and clear 2 large speed bumps.

I don't want to take away from your journal.

Mine can be found in my build thread; http://www.the370z.com/texas/46893-time-more-boost.html

Or in the HRE Thread; http://www.the370z.com/wheels-tires/...heels-ftw.html

Is this really a journal though? IDK... lol

Your wheels look stellar, looking forward to seeing them on the car.

Your fronts are a +20 which is probably a good thing at +17 i have a mm or 2 of clearance, between the wheel and the brake caliper...I can literally swipe a credit card between the two. The wheel is designed as a non flex wheel so it is a non issue, regardless it is good to have to clearance!

memorylasts 03-27-2012 02:22 AM

Decided to post this up from the other night, I still have more... Just haven't gotten to them yet.

Thanks! I'm excited. :happydance:

I figured with them being conical that brake clearance wouldn't be an issue.

You won't have a issue, my setup is different then yours. I'm not 100% but I think your fronts are a Med face where as mine are a high face meaning I have a larger angle to the middle then you will plus you have the extra couple in offset, I don't have any clearance issues it is just close...

No worries if I do. I don't mind a 5mm spacer but I doubt also.
