Where did you get the carbon fiber overlay for the b pillars?

The material is 3M Di-Noc and I bought it on eBay. Just be careful on eBay and make sure that the listing states that it is 3M material. There are a lot of knock-offs.

Did you pop off the b pillar to do it?

No, you don't need to remove it.

Wrapping the b-pillar wasn't too difficult. You'll need a vinyl squeeqee, an exacto knife, and a heat gun (or a hair dryer will work). I started by tracing out the b-pillar on a blank piece of paper. I then cut out the trace and used it as my template. I cut out the Di-Noc material using the template leaving about a half inch of material on each side of the template so that I could use the excess to wrap around the edges of the b-pillar.

Once you have the Di-Noc material cut out, use the heat gun to warm up the material. The heat makes the material extremely easy to work with. Stick the material to the b-pillar and use the squeegee to work out any air bubbles or any other imperfections. Remember to keep using the heat gun. It will make the material much more workable. Once all of the air bubbles have been worked out, use the squeegee to wrap the edges of the material around to the back side of the b-pillar. At the corners you will have to use the exacto knife to cut away some of the material. Also, on the side of the b-pillar facing the rear of the car, I used the exacto knife to carefully cut the material right where the b-pillar meets the rubber seal. I didn't want to ruin the rubber seal trying to wrap the material behind the b-pillar on that side.

Here are the squeeqees that I used on the install.

I have the Z1 oil cooler all ready for install. Hopefully I can find the time tomorrow to do it.

That looks cool. We have done several installations of that very cooler on 370's over here at casa onzedge and it is straightforward. We also do something extra. Even though the Z1 guys wrap their lines, we like to add a little more protection.

Get some heater hose from your local autoparts store -- hose that has an I.D. that is about the size of the cooler line's O.D. Also get some zip ties. We cut some lengths of the heater hose -- maybe 6" or so -- and then slit them lengthwise. Anywhere the oil cooler lines go around something, we put these short pieces on with zip ties for added protection from abrasion. Just a thought.

You should budget two hours or thereabouts. Good luck, man. :tiphat:

Thanks for the input! Funny that you mention that. I had read about the heater hose stuff in one of the threads here and bought some for that purpose.

Installed the Z1 25-row oil cooler today and did an oil change to Redline 5w30 at the same time. Below are some pics. It was fairly easy to install thanks to the great Z1 installation guide and all of the help on this forum. When I took it out for a quick test drive the difference in temps was great. The car never even reached 200 degrees.

Glad to hear that the install went well! Installing the heater hose is definitly cheap insurance. Keep me posted on its performance and your thoughts.

Nice job pedZ!

So I have black fangs, rear diffuser, and I HAD tinted tails and black emblems. I removed them just because. I ordered new wheels and they should be here next Wednesday. They are custom gloss black avant garde m310. My question to you is should I get my roof, tails, emblems black or would that be too much for the silver z. I want my roof black though!

Personally I am not really a fan of tinted tails but I can tell you that I have been very happy with having the roof wrapped. I thought it turned out really well. Black compliments a silver car really well so I don't really think you can go overboard.

I took the Z out for a nice drive in the mountains early this morning. Had a great time and it was a great drive. Here's a map of the route I took.

At the peak of Angeles Crest Highway, it was pretty cold out (32 degrees) and all of the trees were covered in frost. Great scenery!

I finally installed Dynamat in the trunk today. I haven't taken it for a drive yet so I don't know how much of a difference it will make but hopefully it was worth it.

http://photos.eddiedelgado.com/photo...-GC66837-L.jpg

pedZ 05-28-2012 01:30 PM

Took the Z out for a drive this morning to see if I could notice a difference with the Dynamat now installed. I'm really surprised how much of a difference it makes. It has definitely reduced road noise and I think the Bose subwoofer even sounds a little better.

pedZ 06-06-2012 08:51 PM

More work on the Z today. I added Dynamat to both the driver side and passenger side doors.
