Nah that would just be a waste of money. The Berk does have another benefit in that it's easier to hide from my parents than the FI. They would flip out if they knew how much money I've spent making my car faster. They think I've only done little visual things here and there :icon17:

22 and I do live with my parents. It's a cultural thing more than anything else since I could have decided to live on campus. I do enjoy the benefits though because it's the only reason I got my Z in the first place.

No problem with living at home if there is no tension!

Yeah I have no problem with it and I save tons of money, don't have to worry about cooking, laundry, etc.

TerribleONE 04-12-2012 12:16 PM

Now you got me jealous. I just moved out about a year ago because my family was moving about 35-45 minutes away from my work so I got into a house, but man do I miss it. Never had any issues, amazing home cooked meals, my laundry always done, PLUS the extra cash.

On a side note, mod the Z but save some money too! I kick myself everyday thinking about all the money I blew when I was younger. I lived at home, had two jobs, and I probably made $15,000 a year (not bad for a 17 year old 12 years ago) and I have no idea where any of it went. I was always broke. I probably kept Cheetos and Mountain Dew in business those years.

What do you do if you don't mind me asking? I know you're around the same age as me.

I'm graduating next month and should start working as a full time chemical engineer whenever I secure a job. Then I'll start saving for a house to buy with my family. Good thing is that my parents already have a bunch of money saved up for it, but my new income will help a lot.

I've been close to broke a bunch of times, but have some reserve money saved up now :p

I plan on doing that once I start working full time. I will probably save 25-50% of each paycheck for the house and start paying off my car a lot quicker with some of my remaining money. Will try to keep my expenses similar which will be good since I'll make like 4 times more than what I do now.

I sell toner/ink actually. hahah to large scale business's and the government. Its not the most glorifying job but it pays my bills and definitely lets me enjoy my hobbies!

Sounds like you got everything planned out pretty nicely! I am glad I got into my house before I picked up the Z or that goal would be far far away now

I could but we don't have a washer/dryer in our apartment so my mom does the whole family's laundry together in bulk. Once we get the house though I'll probably have to do it on my own :icon17:
