Update:
~Stillen Gen 3 intake are now on order Also, is a grounding kit worth it for a manual or even at all? With Stillen's BF deal it is a nice price drop for the grounding kit. |
An interesting picture I thought would never happen to my car, one reason I wish we did not have a garage full of classic cars.

New addition and removal from the car:
~Added Stillen Gen III intakes ~Removed Takeda SRI Overall install time for the intakes for me and my co-worker was about three hours, but two hours of real work. Had to go to Wal-Mart to get some dremel bits for the cutting and we grabbed dinner at one point just to take a break. Upside is they are in and look/sound great, for what I was able to test, but the downside is it started raining last night and I could not get traction so no real heavy testing. Will have to wait for the weather to clear later this week and then get on it more. Here are some pictures: http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r...z/CIMG0982.jpg http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r...z/CIMG0983.jpg http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r...z/CIMG0984.jpg http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r...z/CIMG0985.jpg http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r...z/CIMG0986.jpg |
This is going to be my random picture post, will updated it as more happens:
Mustang Z: http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r...z/CIMG0979.jpg http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r...z/CIMG0980.jpg http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r...z/CIMG0981.jpg Anyone who wants to help explain this one, we found a couple of cigarette buds between the bumper and fender skirt area, where it is all sealed in. I have never taken the bumper off and I do not smoke. http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r...z/CIMG0977.jpg |
considering you have a leaf in there too i'd guess it was washed up in there in the rain or a puddle
|
Cant see any of the pics........ GRRRRRRR :shakes head:

What are the odds of two cigarette butts being washed up in there though? That is strange.
|
Bizarre, but not overly concerned, they are gone and everything is cleaned out. Now if I could only get a day without rain so I can wash my car. :(
|
How does it feel?

Finally got around to being able to drive the car and push it.
Hard to tell any real difference, sound change is minimal at best, with any being in the sub 3,000RPM range. Overall I am much happier with these intakes (so far), also with installing them I really got to see what spending some extra money gets you. Not all are these intakes great for performance, but they are built very well and the parts supplied are top notch. Next dyno run for me will not be until after the F.I. long tube headers are on, and at that point I will have all my performance parts done for awhile. Now for the fun, was in Galveston to ring in the New Year and when leaving today (took the ferry back) my car was being eyed by some passengers and this one I was able to get a picture of. He is turned around in it but that is because I am slow in getting my camera out. http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r.../370z/Bird.jpg |
lol nerd :stirthepot:
can't wait to get my G3s and LTH's. gonna be a lil bit though. at least i'll get to see em on your car sometime. |

we'd have to wait until pretty much April for the LTH's. not sure if we can hold out that long.
|
Well I think most people will want to do it in March probably, and that will be right before I get them. :(
|
Since I have what I want performance wise done to the car, well once the parts arrive, I am starting to work on style now. First up on the agenda, painting the engine cover (none on the car as I have more work today but the engine cover is done):

Arrived today or yesterday: ~Mishimoto Hoses ~Password JDM ~SRP Racing pedals Going to get them installed this weekend, and hoping soon to have an exhaust installed. |
Password JDM:
Parts are installed and pictures will arrive this evening. Overall for the price I am not 100% impressed, it definitely adds a nice touch to the engine bay but the results of the carbon fiber is not without problems. In the clearcoat there are a few places where there is none or did not fill in properly, they are very minor and the only way to see is if you are holding the pieces in hand and looking but for the price you pay I was expecting a bit better results. Pictures will arrive tonight or later today if I get a break from work. Install was pretty easy for the battery & fluid covers, but the radiator cover was a bit tighter of a fit. Two main issues we ran into were the hood prop clip and getting the radiator cover over it and getting the last two clips into their respected holes. Overall it took 10 minutes to take off the old and put on the new, and once they are clipped in correctly they fit nicely and look very good. Here are my awesome pictures, I really suck at taking pictures: http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r...z/IMG_0382.jpg http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r...z/IMG_0380.jpg http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r...z/IMG_0381.jpg http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r...z/IMG_0383.jpg |
Finally updated with pictures for the Password JDM parts, the other two will go on next week, pedals & hoses.
|
I like the radiator cover!!
How was the fitment? |

j/k <ducks quickly> :rofl2: |
I like the rad cover but the other covers makes it really hard to get to batt, fuse, fluids etc.... Looks nice though. Also the engine cover would look nice with carbon or a gtr i-manifold conversion from GTM. You only live about a naighborhood away from me, I am suprised I have not seen this car alot more.

Thanks for the comments. :D
Radiator cover is the hardest piece to put on. Fitment is very tight and they added a piece onto the stock one, you cannot get access anymore to the windshield fluid with it on now. That part of it seems nice but could use some more work or maybe not include it. Getting access to the top two is extremely easy, three pop pins and they are off, maybe 10 seconds longer then the stock ones. I have seen a few G37 with carbon fiber engine covers and was not impressed, just to much carbon for my taste. These pieces were sort of bought for fun as some added "flare" to the engine bay for shows without over doing the carbon fiber. The radiator cover with these additions, plus the hoses sitting in my house should pull it all together I hope. |
Never have been a fan of spray painted parts. No offence to the the work its a great job who ever painted it but not my thing. Cant wait for my rims and bbk to come in. Might work on the sound system after this, or maybe even some carbon parts too. I see the mod bug has you as well. :)

Looks good mang! :D:tup:

so a stock 370z only does around 240 horses to the wheels?

I bet those CF parts add about 30 more whp. Maybe even 50...
looks good, though. I like my Titek CF radiator cover, too. |
