I blame you for any hot weather on the day of my dyno.

On this, the day of dreamer's dyno.

If everything is in working order (long tubes are not causing problems) then I hope for just 400-420. Texas heat has been picking up and with a 40% chance of rain everyday it is causing it to be extremely humid.

400-420 on a mustang in such bad heat would be good numbers. My guess is that you're going to be closer to 390 if you are in fact hitting the intended 8psi.

So wait, you got custom tuned and have other stuff on the car, meaning this is not really a GTM CARB legal kit. I just hope you compare apples to apples when your results come in. Exciting times.

No, no custom tuning going on.
This is one of the first kits, and we ran into a slight problem with mine and the ECU freaking out with the first tune. Basically the car would not start, so we started from scratch and worked step by step to figure out what went wrong. So this is purely a canned map from GTM it just took some slight tweaking because of my ECU freaking out (which I might be because of a previous tune I had on the car).

theDreamer 07-21-2010 12:39 PM

I will add this, I might get a dyno tune down the road after other changes are done to the car if needed, but as of this point it is purely Sam@GTM sending me a tune and Baker Tuning throwing it on the car and checking it.

That's confusing, how do you start from scratch and then call it a canned tune. You're saying the car wouldn't start with the GTM provided tune??

I understand if Sam is sending you the tune himself, but you are using a new, different tune... In texas im sure you could care less though.

From "scratch" means, adding one thing at a time.
Because my ECU was not playing nice with the tune we started to tear down the tune and add a piece at a time. This way if there was a problem we can isolate it, no custom tuning, nothing special. It was just a longer process of adding a tune, same tune, just in pieces.

I think he ment to say it was origanally was a canned tune. Sam sent out a tune that did not work with his ECM serial number for some reason. The car would not start, which is not a big problem. Baker sent out data to Sam and broke the tune up in 4-5 phases sending back and fourth data and now....BAM we have a perfectly running Supercharged Z. The correction is dead on, and tuned great along with idel temps. We will have 100% info when we hit the dyno and get A/F readings. I think it will be below 400whp as well RCZ, tommarow should be the day. I am hoping the LTH's do not need to come off of the car.

There should be no reason for the LTH to come off.

Yeah. Never seen a vehicle EVER lose RWHP because LTH on a blown application. Unless there happens to be a boost leak....

What do they run off unicorn piss? Do a little research before you blindly follow one shops install that:

1) had a boost leak (who cares if its big or small it still affects the numbers)

2) we still don't have any graphs or dyno results to look at so we are going off hearsay.

3) was done in haste and they never did any trouble shooting, they simply slapped the stock stuff back on (I understand time was an issue but that is ridiculous)

It just doesn't make sense that putting a more restrictive exhaust on a car produces better numbers? show me anywhere else in the automotive world where a boosted engine with LTH's produces lower numbers when the system is done properly.

Blaming it on the VVEL or that the VQ is some new high tech engine is a crock to cover up either poor trouble shooting, a mismatched supercharger kit (whether it be too small of a head unit or restrictions elsewhere or any number of other reasons), or poor tuning.
