Had my first track experience today at Summit Point Raceway for Hyperfest. Here's the video of my session. More details of my experience in the thread below:

Muahahaa now you're one of US  yeah you braked early but it's a good survival mechanism to have with all season tires and slip n slide grassy runoffs.
IDK if anyone has told you but CAI+HFC+CBE- T.U.N.E =OVERLEAN = VQ37 because of detonation. Runs hot too. I know its $$$ but you get way more power, higher redline, and you wisely saved $$ when you kept your stock 18's (which allows you to spend less on Hankook RS3's next time you buy tires). Save those all seasons for another season and get those Summer tires on asap. Get rear add on spoiler, tune, and more track time before you worry bout early braking. Oh-video had great sound! What setup and settings? |
Sharp video man, weather was perfect, sky looked great, car sounded good, only missing thing was the batman's theme

I was going to get one, but ended up spending that money on track stuff like the brake pads/fluid, track time itself, and I just bought a set of used summer tires to use for a few months. I may need some time to recover from all this spending before I even think about getting more mods :icon17: As far as the video goes, it was just an old non-HD gopro camera that I borrowed from Rob (MightyBobo). I placed it at the end of the hood right above the Nissan hamburger on the front. Ended up being the perfect spot to hear the sound coming from the intakes and HFCs. I eventually want to get one of the HD gopro cameras and get an external mic to use with it for even better sound. Quote:

Do the rear add on spoilers really add any useful amount of downforce? When you say add on spoiler, do you mean like the hardcore track wings or something like the CarbonSignal type N spoiler?

Got my latest mod installed tonight with a lot of help from Rob. He found me a 34 row Z1 oil cooler kit that had never been used before on Craigslist for only $250. I picked it up from the guy ASAP and just got it installed. It working REALLY well so far. On the 20 min drive from his house back to mine, my oil temps stayed at a steady 170 degrees with a little bit harder than normal driving. Definitely need a block of plate soon so I can at least get my oil to optimal operating temps. Saw temps over 260 at my hyperdrive and this should definitely help out with that.

Also bought a set of used RE050A's to use for the summer. Summer tires are definitely way better than all seasons.
Unfortunately the installing of my new tires ruined the plasti dip on my wheels. Trying to decide whether I should just leave them as is for now or just peel off all the plasti dip. I'll post pictures in the morning so you guys can help me decide. I'm probably going to spray them with plasti dip again, but not sure when. If it's going to get messed up every time I get my tires changed then it's not even worth doing again, at least not for a while. |
Rob's a good guy

So here is the aftermath of the tire change. Not sure whether to leave it like this for now or just take it all off. The rear wheels aren't too bad, but the fronts are. http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/...s/IMAG1393.jpg http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/...s/IMAG1390.jpg http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/...s/IMAG1391.jpg http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/...s/IMAG1392.jpg http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/...s/IMAG1389.jpg |
Take it off, looks ugly now...
Great find on the oil cooler though :) |
