Thanks guys! These will probably become my winter wheels at some point so I'm not gonna spend money to powdercoat them. It will cost like $20-30 and a couple hours of work to redo them completely so it's not worth getting them powdercoated.

Yeah, but when you get your next set, this isn't a bad color option

This is the exact color I wanted for my next set anyway, so I will probably have those powdercoated this color.

Thanks Ryan! I love how the color goes perfectly with the blacked out fangs. I didn't plan for it like that, but it worked out really well.

I'm thinking about maybe doing the door handles as well. It would look good, but I don't think I would like feeling the rough texture of plasti dip when I open my doors. I like it to feel smooth so I will probably leave them. Might do the emblems though in the same gunmetal color.

Alchemy 03-20-2012 12:36 PM

I think doin the emblems would look good. Door handles too but I hear what you are saying about the texture. Just looked at your pics again inside, was in the sun before and had mega glare. Rims look damn good +1. Blank rep from my Droid.

I'm thinking about putting a regular clear coat on top of the plasti dip on the wheels to give it a smooth texture. It will be more difficult to remove, but I don't plan on removing it anytime soon. It will also be easier to clean with a smooth surface.

Shahid, you've been making some great cost efficient mods that are turning out great. Congrats!

Thanks Jon! Being an engineering student short on cash really helps you come up with some of these great ideas. My car is proof that you don't need to spend thousands of dollars on a full body kit and aftermarket wheels to set your car's looks apart from others. My car looks super modified with just a few subtle changes, which is what I love about it.

Great job on the wheels ! Looks killer. Did you do them on the car, or take them off ? I am guessing off since it looks like you got all of the inside wheel parts done as well ...

Yeah I took them off the car. I thought about doing it with the wheels on the car, but it would have been much more of a PITA to mask off the brakes/rotors with the wheels still on.

wheels look dope!!
