The Z is so much more enjoyable with a good CBE. It was my first (and best) mod on my car. Make it sound like the car it is man!

Hmm...I'd have to say go with a new exhaust. You're Z looks great already so don't change with a NISMO front bumper, so scratch my previous. Look into an exhaust that will give you a nice bump in HP and give the sound to match the look!

There are a lot of great ones out there. See if you can check some out in person and figure out which one you like best. If you can't do that then the next best option would be to watch some youtube vids. Fast Intentions is definitely the most popular on the forum, but you might not like the drone. Berk, Invidia Gemini, and Ark are some other good ones.

I concur with what Blades said. If you can go listen to other exhausts on Zs and make sure to ask them all of the mods they have besides just the exhaust itself. They could have cold air intake, manifold, high flow cats or test pipes. Each will make it sound different than just an exhaust. I had high flow cats and the exhaust installed at the same time and it sounded great. Then when I added the cold air intakes and the motordyne manifold it changed the sound even better thankfully!

Its a guy local to me selling his Nismo exhaust for $450...What do you guys think?

Z_bro 01-29-2012 09:15 AM

Has anyone powdercoated their exhaust? I'm thinking of black cherry or black. I don't want any shiny parts...

The Nismo is ok, just a little bit louder than stock. If you want something more aggressive sounding you'll probably want to go with something aftermarket. If you can get a chance to hear it while its still on his car you should see how you like it.

I heard Nismos before they sound ok I guess the price was the more motivating factor.

You can go for it then. If you keep looking around the For Sale section you'll see good deals on exhausts once in a while. I found my Berk for like $700, which is half the price of a new one. You takes some patience, luck, and spending a lot of time on the forum :icon17:
