The journey is almost over.....

Leehigh Auto Body & Service Center had The Smurf for 5 days. They installed the following:

EVO-R Carbon Fiber Center Bumper Cover
EVO-R Carbon Fiber Front Bumper Top Cover
EVO-R Carbon Fiber Rear Valence
Carbon Fiber Rear Spoiler (OEM Style)
Z1 Silicone Radiator Hose Set (Blue)
MR Works modified headlights (includes Angel Eyes & Demon Eye)
Window Tint (35% sides & 50% rear)

Still left to get installed is the Nissan Cube interior mood lighting kit. We know it will fit, we are just verifying which colored wires need to go where. Hopefully the kit will be installed sometime next week.

That looks damn good Tony. You gotta get CF mirror covers now...haha
Here what I got, the beginning of getting CF things for me.

http://i422.photobucket.com/albums/p...rrorCovers.jpg
* rims, brakes and body components will be changed soon!

It would match the rear valence for sure :)

Thank you, Marco! Please tell Ryan thanks for me, too. It's amazing in person....that's all I can say! I regret nothing that I've done to my baby. I will get my old OEM headlights boxed up this weekend and sent to you next week. I'm sure they are already accounted for by someone on here.....and if they aren't......let me just say to everyone......these headlights are beautifully done and MR Works did one hell of a job on 'em!

How the EVO-R rear valence is installed.....

10 Attachment(s)
I've had a few people ask about the rear valence (or diffuser as some like to call it) so here are some photos. This is an overlay, however to install this piece you will need to drill holes in your bumper.

Looking from above down by the rear fog light:
http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1271386957

Looking from above down by the drivers side exhaust pipe:
http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...2&d=1271386957

Looking down at the driver & passenger sides:
http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...3&d=1271386957
http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...4&d=1271386957
http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...5&d=1271386957

Angles of the screws and holes drilled into my bumper during install:
http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...6&d=1271386957
http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...7&d=1271386957
http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...8&d=1271386957
http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...9&d=1271386957
http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...0&d=1271386957

Note that the screws were supplied by the autobody shop. The ones that came with the overlay were not long enough to use. Not saying this would be the case for everyone but in my particular case it was. An easy problem to resolve...so not a real big deal. And yes, I am aware of the slight gap that is visible in the photos. I did have another member tell me that this is not the first time the space is visible after installing this particular valence.

Caravanshaka 04-16-2010 03:37 PM

Tony, hate to say it man, but that doesn't look like it is fitting correctly. The edge should follow the groove in the bumper all the way across. Basically, the edge should sit inside that groove.

ilive2win 04-16-2010 03:45 PM

looking good! i need to catch up to you quick haha

:iagree: But if you look at the section that's covering the fog light it's perfect.....not much more can be done. CF can't be stretched...which is what looks like is needed with this one. I'm a little disappointed but from straight on it looks good. I may contact EVO-R and have them look at the photos. At least see what they say.

ya, I would. I wasn't saying it was an install problem, looked like a mold problem mating to your bumper. Mention it and see what they say, can't hurt!

Ah ok.....misunderstood ya! ;) Yeah, I'm guessing it's a mold issue. Even the front part that covers the fangs sometimes needs to be shaved down because the lower lip makes it hard to slide the overlay on. I got lucky and my front CF parts worked well.

Again, I'm not too worried. Who knows....maybe I'll get a Version 2 or something!

Definately was! It was my first one and they had all the front spots taken and it stretched all the way around the building. Within a few hours people who showed up had to park on the street! Overall, it was a really fun time.

Yep...and I'm not the first to have it from what I have heard. D&V, the place the car show was held at, said they can fix it. They'll get that opportunity soon, too.
