The fix for the fuel starvation is two Bosch pumps installed in the tank. No further details available on that as of yet. The gentleman I'm talking with is working with Nissan Motorsports who will along with himself be offering the kit as two options. You can either send in your tank and they will install the kit ( preferred ) or you can buy the kit and install it yourself. He is currently working on pricing with Nissan. Pricing will be the same whomever you buy it from. It will be about 2 more weeks before my kit is installed by them, I'm the guinea pig :ugh2:

Sorry I don't have more than that.

Travis,

How are ya doing? How is the car treating ya? Have you weighed the car lately. Just curious what your weight is now that you have completely stripped it bare? How is the racing going?

Yes, it works fine... contact BC racing and they can provide an adapter that was made for g37/370z's to use standard swift springs... can't remember exactly which length I used but I will tell you that I wish I had gone 1" shorter on the springs as I have to adjust them to the lowest perch setting to get the proper rear ride height... at 16K there is effectively no sag... I'd guess I got the 7" springs and should have gone with 6"... will double check later

I'll give them a call on Monday. I'm at 12k/10k with a 6" Swift in the front. The regularly provided spring is 8". I'm not sure of the regular rear height, but I'll get it sorted out. Thanks for the info.

Things are good... car is in the shop for some work to get it classed in a lower category until next year... I've been about 50 whp short for my class, so it's for the best...

3175 with driver and fuel and I think there's potential to remove ~150 pounds still, including resolving fuel starvation! So it's getting there

Very impressive build...I just read through roughly all of the 69+ pages.

Great. Will be curious to see how the 6" works if that's what you try... with the added length of the adapter and the very low sag of the 16k spring, guessing 6" is the proper spring length for the rear, but can't say for certain until you try it! :)

Thanks for stopping by! Hopefully generates ideas for you guys to build some parts... matching poly mounts for motor, trannie, diff?

Travis, when we shut the car off and pull the key the dash lights stay on. Have you encountered this in your build? Wondering if the PCM is going south on me. Also, I have no control over the ACS system. It's always off.

Thanks!
Stan

I got a call from a dealer today that bought a salvage title 370z... he was hoping to get it back in good condition but he found out that the main wiring harness was severed in half, the ecu is blown and a few other electrical issues... if anyone is interested in buying it as a donor car, let me know and I'll put you in touch... would make a great starting point for someone that wanted to build a race car with an aftermarket ecu

Not sure I can help with this, maybe others can comment... Have you removed any codes stored on the ECU? I generally leave the key in and just cycle through the start button... when I do that, it consistently shuts down properly... so, not something I have encountered... assuming you've tried waiting a few minutes to see what happens? Re "ACS system"... HVAC, cruise control or something else? pls clarify

The dash was pulled to paint the cage and my guy said everything was hooked up correctly. It's been out before. Lights, wipers, alarm work. I can't dim the dash lights and they stay on. I am getting "service engine soon" code, low tire pressure, ACS off, brake light ( don't have a parking brake )

I'll take it to the dealer and see if clearing the PCM will work.

travisjb 06-14-2010 08:32 AM

okay, recommend that you also:

1. take 1-2 hours and inspect the wiring harness for any severed wires... there are MANY very fine wires in there that can easily be severed if someone is not careful... there is a possibility that someone may have attempted to repair the harness too... a good dealer tech should be able to trace this down - the procedures are all in the service manual re how to distinguish between severed wires and other issues. Big FYI - all of the connections on the harness are unique, so it is extremely unlikely that something got plugged in in the wrong place... did he create new ground connections? possible he forgot to ground some part of the harness?

2. stop by wal*mart or wherever and pick up a code reader / eraser... prob $30 and will allow you to delete any codes yourself
