Update... Little progress on the installs today, but I've decided on wheels / tires (I THINK !)... going with old style Advan RS + Toyo R888s... here's a pic I grabbed off the photoshop thread of what it should look like

http://www.the370z.com/members/koojo...ense-plate.jpg

I have a few requests out for quotes, any vendors that read this are welcome to drop me a quote... 18x9, 18x10 with 29 and 25 offsets... 265 and 285 Toyos

Can't go wrong with Advan :D Loved my RGII's.

If you get the RS's make sure you get the GTR face ones with the concave look. Those would look amazing. Good wheel choice.

EVOMS makes sick porsches. Their CGT makes me poop my pants.

Thanks for the advice, will try for those... It's hard to find a set of these with the right offset in gun metal... Sharif is searching around for me

Travis, I don't see new brake rotors or at least pads on your list, are you planning on sticking with the stock set? The reason I ask is, as you probably know, some people have experienced issues tracking the Z with the stock brakes, such as Edmunds.

travisjb 04-24-2009 10:30 AM

Forgot that ! I have already installed Hawk HP+ pads... going to use the stock rotors until I burn through them, then may switch to DBA5000s upon the advice of RCZ

I did not experience fade during my runs at PIR, however, my runs were shortened due to engine oil overheating, so no telling if they would have started fading after 20 mins or so... we'll see

The HP+ pads are a little harsh for driving around town by the way... you have to adjust how you use the pedal a bit

Not to mention they are noisy and create truck loads of brake dust. :)

I swap back to the OEM pads between track days.

Nice, I didn't know DBA rotors, just looked them up, not a bad price! Especially considering the Brembos are so incredibly expensive! I believe in "You get what you par for", but in that case you may be paying a little over what you get just so that the caliper says those 6 famous letters...

Have you decided if you'd keep the original calipers? I am wondering if some of the scoring issues people have reported when tracking the stock brakes would go away with the Hawk HP+ or similar pads.

travisjb 04-24-2009 01:09 PM

yes, I will be using the OE rotors at the track... will let you know soon enough !
