Shoot - was going to say Cayman R, til I saw "Room for junior"...

Room for Jr? G37S Coupe
|
The new 991 is a beautiful car... I had the chance to ride in a friend's 2012 GTR Black Edition for the first time this weekend and I think my heart stopped... Also, you may want to see what the new SRT Viper has to offer when it's announced next month. The new CLS or M5... really, there are a lot of choices under $100k.
|
All of the cars mentioned so far are on the table... ideally, I want room for three passengers, but this will be my car and we can fit the three of us in the other two vehicles... so a two-spot is not out of the question
current list 1. 911 991 S 2. R8 3. 2013 Cayman... or new Boxster 4. GTR... Love this car! don't like the cheap-ish interior though 5. Z06... need to grow a mullett - still a great car If we ever get an M5 or Merc, it'd be as a replacement for the wife's ISF I need speed! I need to review the terms of the program, but I may be able to pull off something more fun. Has to come with license plates, but... Ariel Atom ? Wish the new NSX was in my price range! Will keep my eye on Viper announcements |
I feel like the 911 and Cayman, while awesome cars, are so much closer to the Z categorically, it doesn't add much stylistic depth to your stable :). R8 I think with most option sets would tip over the $100K mark, in many cases by a good chunk. GTR would be be my personal choice from the set, if I were in the same boat. You could use some leftover budget to have someone fix up the interior to be snazzier :)

What about a BMW 1 M or M 1 whatever it is. :V It is a truly drool worthy car.

Prob not, but I may test drive the 1M just to be sure... it may be a very different beast from the 135 vert, who knows?
|
It's SUPPOSED to be a very different beast. :)
|
R8 would be fun. I'd definitely wait to see how the new Viper turns out.
|
R8 or GTR are both great options.
Have you thought about a six series? Also, is your employer hiring? :p |

Hey travis. I was looking at some different single exhaust setups to get some ideas for my car and I saw that you are running a single. At one point you mentioned that the tubing was done in aluminum, but it looks like your exhaust setup has changed. Are you still running aluminum pipe with the burns stainless muffler? How do you like it? Is it incredibly loud? I would like to run something similar on a street car, but I'm not sure if it would just be way too loud.
I'm wondering why aluminum exhausts are not more popular in general though. Someone told me that such lightweight material gives it a really bad sound, so maybe that is one reason, but I've never heard one in person to verify that. Also, in my searching I found that vibrant sells all aluminum mufflers as well. Any reason you didn't go with something like that? Vibrant Performance ::. Oh, one other thing: do you have any pics of your laminova oil cooler setup? I searched this thread, but didn't see any. I'm interested in how you mounted it, routed the lines etc. |
