Ken, the cf pieces came clear coated like the lip. Did you reclear the part? My lip is already scuffing thanks to crappy dips, but survives speed bumps. I'm going to get something to reduce or prevent further damage.

thanks for the info. :)

huh, my ings was raw CF when i got it. it had glue and resins still hanging where they glued the top and bottom pieces together, rough to the touch, etc. i filed the excess resin off, 3 levels of wetsanding, then applied UV clearcoat, then polished. it was a lot of time for me. i was expecting to get a finished product and just mount it on my car but no~... :ugh2:

and the tape and screws they included in the package was a frikken joke. :ugh2: i used the tape in 2 layers in the front middle and used my own larger machine screws, washers, and nuts to install it. turned out great as expected though. :p

but i know i wont have the lux to do all that work again on the sides down the road so that's why i asked.

Holy crap. I feel dumb now haha. I thought the roughness was some artifacts from the factory. So that's what raw CF is like? I'm a noob to this stuff. No wonder there were some pits, white markings, some permanent finger prints, etc.

You're right, the included screws are a joke. I also went out to the local hardware store and got some machine screws, washers, nuts, and even some RTV. The first side skirt wasn't as clean. The next one was better. Then the lip was pretty much nearly perfect. I'm no good with this stuff...

I think the lip goes on real nicely. The side skirts are a good concept, but it doesn't "mold" to the side skirts as well. I have no clue how shops are going to lift the car now with the CF skirts. If I ever destroy these, I'll probably opt for Sunline Racing side skirts. Still loving the lip, and this setup turns plenty of heads.

Yah, you are feeling the raw resin (epoxy) to harden the CF. Its not a finished
product. In fact unless you clear coat it with UV protection it will turn yellow... note that not all clearcoats are high in UV resistance.

I used Krylon UV Resistant Clear. You can get the 11oz spray cans locally at most art stores like Michael's. Or have your local shop sand it and paint it. I used some matte black enamel paint along the edges to seal the CF before applying the clear. This is to prevent moisture to be absorbed and for the CF not to undo itself. :)

Thanks for the info on the skirts. I want to get them down the road but yah it will be difficult for shops to get their lifts under there! :D

Hey kenchan, do you have the INGS CF lip installed together with the EVO-R CF Fang Cover?

How's the fit?

im not sure if mine is the Evo-R one (got it as a gift) but should be no different from the other ones. the fitment is fine.

as mentioned earlier make sure you get some M6 or M8 (your choice) machine screws, washers, and nut (i use loctite and not torque down too much on the fasteners).

in total im using 5 screws to hold the Ings splitter. 2 from factory points and 3 from new holes i drilled into the bottom of the bumper. :)

:iagree: that was my original lip i was looking to get but with the CF fang cover i would've needed to cut it where it meets the lip like Ztoon's car.

Why not just remove the CF fang cover?
