Update:
Installed K&N drop in filters 2 weeks ago. Haven't noticed an improvement in MPG. Did notice an improvement in throttle response. Should get my CS Amuse fenders delivered to me Monday. Should have uninstalled pics Tuesday then off to the painters. Hopefully installed pics in 2 weeks. Bought some used Motordyne ART pipes. Hope to have them installed in 2 weeks. Finally, hoping to have the SSR's in another 4 to 6 weeks from now. :driving: |

Just installed a set of Motordyne ART pipes I scored on Ebay. Went to Amplified Motorsports on Saturday and they were able to put them on within 90 minutes. Great job!
http://www.the370z.com/members/370z-...-art-pipes.jpg On a cold start, it is considerably louder than what I had with just the Invidia Exhaust. However, when it warms to normal temperature, it idles just like before. One negative to the ART pipes is the smell of fumes at idle is very noticeable especially when the windows are vented. I did not reset the ECU after the install. Driving home (30miles) from Amplified, I was not very impressed. The car felt very sluggish. When I drove the car today, WOW what a difference. The car was very responsive. Very happy with the way the car performs. Below 3K RPM, the car sounds just like before. But when you open it up a little bit, the car growls. Very throaty. Sounds like an aggressive sports car. I was worried that the car would be too loud. Not the case at all. I think it sounds just right. There is a slight drone at cruising speed, but not loud enough to be a nuisance. I didn't notice any rasp either. Very pleased with this mod. YouTube - No ART pipes YouTube - ART Pipes |
Just ordered the Motordyne M370 manifold. Should be delivered on Wednesday. Will probably install after next fill up.
Wheels should be here first week of June. CS fenders are pending. |

Just got back from Specialty Z in Chatsworth. Got a baseline dyno pull on their Dynojet. Didn't get to meet our forum sponsor Seb, however his partner Greg was there. It was a 90 minute drive for me but I've heard great things from this shop so it was worth it. Will be coming back here in a few days to get the Uprev tune after I install my Stillen Gen 3 intake and Motordyne intake manifold. Current mods are: Invidia Gemini Catback, Motordyne ART pipes, and K&N panel filters. Did 2 pulls, and got an average of 295 hp and 240 ft-lb of torque with the AC unknowingly running. :rofl2: Did another 2 pulls and got an average of 299 hp and 245 ft-lb of torque. http://www.the370z.com/members/370z-...el-filters.jpg |

I installed the M370 manifold yesterday. Butt dyno couldn't really tell the difference. Will give the ECU some more time to adjust. Tone of the engine definitely changed tho. Will take it to Specialty Z soon to see if this mod is worth it! |
After a day of driving, one thing I noticed with the M370 is that the RPMs really flies after 4K. Caught me off guard a couple times.
Will try to get dyno pulls this Monday to verify any gains. . |
Went back for more pulls with Seb@SpecialtyZ today to see what gains were made from the Motordyne M370 manifold.
Gains in TRQ and HP were made from 3K RPM to about 6.5K RPM as advertised. The Z did lose 2 Peak HP, no biggie. Largest gains were seen from 4.5K RPM to 6.5K RPM, in some areas over +10 HP & TRQ. http://www.the370z.com/members/370z-...el-filters.jpg |
I installed my Fram in-cabin air filter today. Took about 20 mins with the DIY posted by a member here. The Fram filter was about 1/4 inch too long, but I made it fit. LOL
http://www.the370z.com/members/370z-...ram-filter.jpg The Z came up with a SES light yesterday. I temporarily disabled it by resetting the ECU. Before the SES light, the car was making a fluttering, popping noise where the ART pipes connects to the OEM header. Car was too low to get under it. Will see if Amplified can check it out when I get my SSR's this week. :driving: |
