At least the horn is an easy fix. I ordered the JDM sport horns and mixed one of them with one of the stock horns...sounds better IMHO.

I'll give mad reps to anyone who can find a true ferrari sounding horn.

Vid? I have never heard one honk.

They look nice, but are still as heavy as the stock rotors.

I doubt any 1 piece rotor is going to save much weight versus the stock rotors, you need to jump up to 2 piece probably.

NewYorkJon34 08-11-2010 01:20 PM

That's why I'm going to switch to the Racing Brake slotted 2-piece set.

RCZ 08-11-2010 01:54 PM

because you have a race car, I dont.

NewYorkJon34 08-11-2010 06:31 PM

And you have a supercharger, I don't. I'm sure if Stillen sold the "Racing Brake" rotors, you'd be all over it.

We do carry an upcoming 2-piece rotor.. the DBA 5000 series, which is a fantastic option, and we're excited to get those in for the customers looking for a 2-piece option.

RCZ was looking for a stock rotor upgrade, we discussed the options, and as the brand new J-Hook face pattern rotor was coming out, he jumped on those.

Most of our customers who are tracking or looking for ultimate performance will look hard at AP Racing BBKs which also feature 2-piece rotors, and are amazing in comparison to the stock Akebono calipers.

NewYorkJon34 08-11-2010 06:53 PM

Ya and how much will those DBA 5000's cost Josh? Pm me if needed.

Actually, they have an AP BBK, but I don't need it yet. My ability isn't quite there for that kind of performance and I want to max out the stock calipers before I move up. Once I get fast enough, get racing tires and I can actually make use of the upgraded brakes I will do it.

So, no I wouldn't buy it just because Stillen sells it. They will sell DBA5000's which are much better than the "other" 2-piece rotors being sold on the board. If anything, I would've done my research and gotten the Aussie set.

If you have a race car pony up for the AP Racing calipers, they feel fantastic when you're beating on the car, progressive, responsive and confident. Getting DBA 5000 rotors would only give you half a solution.

+1... after you sell your old set won't be too far behind the price of the DBAs... and can always start with the fronts and do rears later, if budget is a constraint
