i got Rota P45f looks pretty good lol

this car running with Stance coilovers. Stillen HFC, Pulley, Flywheel, Header, CAI, Oilcooler, Invidia CBE, JWT Clutch

OMGWTFBBQ 01-29-2010 12:20 PM

It needs to be lower.

I'm not really liking the placement of the Mine's air scoops though... It looks better further apart in my opinion.

AndyZ 01-29-2010 12:25 PM

me too.... but thing is Stillen intakes filters are place in middle,, did not had a choice.. lol looks pretty funny, but im gona get the supercharge system and will replace the bumper

and for the height. i lowered lot more than that but my apartment has huge *** bumps... i already messed up my flex pipe lol.... sad....

DR_ 01-29-2010 12:26 PM

What are the specs on the wheels? I like them but I'm not digging the nostrils.

its 19x9+22 and 19x10+12 i think..
and each 2lb havier then stocks

shabarivas 01-29-2010 01:21 PM

lol... why would you get something heavier ... to each their own i guess...

AndyZ 01-29-2010 01:32 PM

i know its no good to be havy.
but only one thing, cheaper lol....
i was gona get the SSR type C, or Volk TE37
but realised i dont really care about wheels and felt wasting money buying a new set of wheels with 3000bucks.

Damn man, rotas? I guess to each their own, but you just took the value of your car down quite a bit with those. Its like going to autozone and buying Phantom filters and APC body kits...

Having said that, it doesnt look bad at all. Cool, good color choice.

shabarivas 01-29-2010 03:47 PM

Thats what i was getting at... you see a lot of rotas poping up on cars these days but people forget that these are wheels to have on a daily driver... if you are pushing your car / tracking it... I would stay the eff away from rota... I dont want to turn this into a wheel debate... but it is what it is... and the OP seems to have done it for looks more than performance so its only fair...

antman22 01-29-2010 05:04 PM

the moustache looks like a set of nostrils to me.

SE 01-29-2010 08:22 PM

Not feelin' the Rotas at all. Why not save and get a decent pair of real wheels rather than cheap Made-in-the-Philippines knockoffs? Would also look better without the nostrils and cheesy moustache also. The 370Z front looks like a face as it is.

Why mod a car at all then?

TARDCORE 01-29-2010 10:51 PM

dude I like the wheels, but when you said you don;t really care about the wheels that threw me off. The wheels make a huge part of your cars appearance and performance! like THHHHIIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSSS big.

AndyZ 01-30-2010 12:45 AM

Well thats just me. For the wheels the last moding for me. This totas gona be gone after i get the SC system

Would had left the Rays on and not embarass the Z community.

AndyZ 01-31-2010 04:45 AM

Oh well i didnt know getting cheap parts onthe car is embarass this Z community
then what about springs?
Isnt springs just one cheap way to get the car lowered
I had Eibachs on my car and now coilovers
well this time. I am taking cheap way to change the looks of my car and like i said i am going to get the SSRs after SC setup

i have no shame on my Calvin Klein shoes cmparing to Gucci or whatever. Cuz i can change it when ever i want.

I know it is just Rota. Period

shabarivas 01-31-2010 05:10 AM

Wow ... dont jump on the guys neck... he is aware of the performance implications clearly... certainly looks good tho :)

G37Sam 01-31-2010 08:27 AM

Congrats on the downgrade? :ugh2:

Shoulda stuck to your OEMs IMHO but to each his own

motoextreme 01-31-2010 11:50 AM

Glad I didnt go for the bumper vents (or whatever they are called). Really does look odd, probably not so obvious on a black car but this one really does look like a face.

As I always say, to each their own though. Still curious if that direct flood of air at high speeds would do anything to power. I'd have to think it would. Those older street bikes saw huge HP gains when they started pushing ram air and amending the airboxes to get direct streams of air. Hard to capture though since car remains stationary during Dyno's, that is of course unless one of the newer ones with the huge variable fans is available.

Would be cool to see a test either way.

(Maybe they wouldnt stick out so much if they were white??)

vortrex 01-31-2010 11:53 AM

they look good and I bet not a single person on this forum could tell the difference on whether he is running Rota's or Volk/SSR/HRE etc with a drive test.

motoextreme 01-31-2010 11:59 AM

I really dig black wheels on white cars, definitely dig the wheel choice IMO

speedworks 01-31-2010 12:11 PM

Don't worry what others say - I feel no shame about you buying Rotas. It's your car and your money; buy what you want. I think it looks ok.

Why are you asking, its what HE likes and rota is not a bad company so everyone seriously stop trying to turn this into a wheel debate thread. Volks are a HUGE waste of money, b/c 80% of people on here are never going to track their wheels. If you DO track your car, why in the hell would you use over$3000.00 wheels with lips and stuff on a track that could damage the finish on the wheels anyways? You can buy enkei RPF1's, and have a cheaper set of wheels for looks and everyday and be less then volks. Its common sense, so please chill out on the wheel debate thing, LET IT DIE. Also knowing what I know about wheels, frankly I would spend my money elsewhere just B/C all of the volk whores.

Your car looks great and dont listen to people on here op. THe nostrils, I am not a fan of at all. I know this may be a bit crazy, but I havent seen anyone ever paint the nostrils. I think it would be a nice function additive, but not so hurtful on the eyes if they were color matched to the car.

Great company, not so great wheels. No one was really trying to turn this into a wheel debate, they were just commenting on the fact that to go from Rays to Rotas is counter intuitive. No one told the OP he should go change his wheels, they are just commenting on something someone posted on an online forum. He posted them to get comments right? Sometimes they are good, sometimes they are bad....

Its his car, he can paint it 3 different shades of poo brown if he so chooses...just don't come in here asking for comments because we are going to tell you it looks like ****..

I'm not sure which wheel debate we're supposed to let die either....maybe there's some fervent world wheel debate I dont know about... I'm also not sure that Volks are track only wheels either.. some people like having high quality wheels on their cars

Yay for freedom of speech.

And I had rotas on my last car as winter wheels, 2 were bent by the end of the season. Believe it or not, they are worth a third of the price for a reason.

Somewhat off-topic, but that might be the greatest statement on this forum that I've seen in a loooooong time hahahaah

If you go on the old 350z forums, most know that this has been beaten to death with a large stick. Why did the wheels bend, what tire sizes were on the wheels, I can show you volks and hres that have been bent. Wheels bend thats reality, just have to be careful and mindful of the roads.

You can say any reason of how your wheels got bent, but we will never know the truth b/c we were never there and frankly it just wouldnt matter to most here anyways. For real though, the car looks good, I wish the wheels in the front though were a little more concave like the rear though.

RCZ 01-31-2010 07:18 PM

Yeah, I've heard so many terrible things about the 350z boards. The wheels bent from rough roads due to ice patches, snow, frost heaves and just terrible Massachusetts roads. It was on Blizzak LM25 in 225 45 17. Interesting thing is though that I drove 3 other winters on stock STI BBS with the same tires and those were not bent, in fact they are on my ex's STI still going strong.

I know wheels bend, but some are stronger than others..

Regardless...they do look nice on the car I agree.

Def know what your saying, stronger then others and i am for sure on your page. I see pics of you on the track, not to stray from the op's title, but have you ran different tires on the stock rays on the track?? I just want to know if the Z with other tires is pulling out some better numbers?

bigdog1250 02-05-2010 01:04 AM

Spending $3K on wheels is quite ridiculous... unless your running in Le Mans. The rota's look good, especially on white. Looks wise I don't care for the nostrils, but again I dig the wheels. Im sure everyone before me who complained about them being lame for performance could not even get close to extracting and realizing any performance gains from a slightly heavier wheel.

Good looking car, hope your enjoying it.

nogoodname 02-05-2010 01:34 AM

should colour match those nostrils....LOL

for some pocket change.... spacers on stockers would have been better than those rotas...
