Thank you!

Nick J.

I have the tires on them, but I haven't physically put them on the car yet. The car is still up in the air as I have a bunch of other stuff to finish. Hopefully I will have it back on the ground tomorrow and will post a few pics. They are 18" SSRs though so they will probably look a bit under-scale for the car. I would do 19s for a street setup for sure.

Subscribing ...

I just finished reading the hole 35 pages. a lot of great information. I do have the same purpose of buying this car "Street/Track". Good luck.

Side note: I must buy something from you.

As promised, installed pics of the 18" SSR Type-Fs. Man this car sucks up 18" wheels. They are light weight though!

M.Bonanni 09-24-2009 11:35 AM

Thanks guys!

Just got word from Forgestar that my 18" wheels have shipped! If they get here with enough time to change the tires over from the SSRs, I will run the Forgestars instead.

Wish I could hear the same news...lol.

Did you get the green stripe on this set?

travisjb 09-24-2009 11:53 AM

Man, that's a relief ! When you get some tracking numbers for the rest of us, please forward. I'm going to try and get my tires here at the same time.

I did not. I decided to nix the stripe so they could possibly get here on time for the event.

For sure! I am sure mine were first off the line since I was the first to place my order, but I would assume that everyone's should be shipping out today or tomorrow. Yours might be early next week though since you have pinstriping, which needs 24 hours to dry and the pinstriper is not in house so they have to call him in.

I was told the pinstriper is doing my wheels tomorrow, so I'd expect a monday shipment if you had stripes

travisjb 09-24-2009 01:18 PM

I just talked with the guys at Forgestar and canceled the pinstripe... they are going to ship mine next week and should be here by end of next week. Cool!

Also found out they are throwing in the new center cap design, which looks MUCH better than the old one

Thanks to you as well! Unfortunately these wheels will most likely be dismounted and put up for sale tomorrow. Nothing wrong with them, but my 18" Forgestars came in so I will be using those instead.

Oh ok. Good news is that your Forgestars are on the way. Good luck at the track!

KillBill 09-25-2009 06:39 AM

Mike, do you know how much the 18 and 19 inch Forgestars weigh?

Caravanshaka 09-25-2009 07:28 AM

Depends on the width and offset. For the 370Z the 19s come in around 25 lbs. each and the 18s come in around 19 or 20 lbs. each, but like I said, exact weight will depend on width and offset.

M.Bonanni 09-30-2009 06:36 PM

Here's a link to the thread I made about my time attack this past weekend!

http://www.the370z.com/track-autocro...round-7-a.html

M.Bonanni 10-01-2009 05:53 PM

Ok so the time attack is over and there is a thread about that linked above. Next up is SEMA and then a week after SEMA is the Redline Time Attack Finals, so there is a lot going on here this month to have the car ready for both.

First, the car is already at Kognition Design for a new dry carbon rear wing. There is a separate thread about it here...

http://www.the370z.com/exterior-inte...velopment.html

Once I get it back I will do my best to get it ready for SEMA which will include...
- NST Pulley Kit
- BRIDE Seats
- NRG Steering Wheel/Quick Release/Hub
- Challenge Brake Lines
- GTSPEC Fender Braces Test Fit
- GTSPEC Rear Subframe Brace Test Fit
- SPL Parts Rear Traction Arms
And whatever else I can get before SEMA. There are a bunch of things that are up in the air that I am waiting on from different companies that they are trying to finish and get to me in time to have on my car for SEMA. Not even going to say what they are though until they are on their way :).

Aside from that, still have to do my post race maintenance...
- Change diff fluid
- Change oil
- Re-Set Alignment
- Re-Install trunk area plastics/spare/tools
- De-sticker

And somewhere in between all of that and SEMA, which is only about 4 weeks away, I have to get the car into a body shop to fill the holes the stock spoiler left and re-paint the hatch. I will probably have them paint a few other things like the door handles, rear bumper piece with the butt hole, and maybe mirrors and the front fang area. Oh and I got to take it into 702 Graphics for a day for them to do a half-wrap decal design on it.

Man I have a lot to do since my car probably wont even be back from Kognition until the weekend of the 11th. Then there will only be two weeks to get all of that done. :(

theDreamer 10-01-2009 05:59 PM

Looks like a busy month again for you, which bride seats are you going with?
Also, can you do a test/measurement if you remember. See if you gain any clearance in the head with the seats you add and how much it is. I assume you are going to use the attached slide rails?

Crazy busy month. I actually got pretty stressed out writing that last post lol. Our Project Mini Cooper is also going to SEMA so that adds a whole other bag of fun. :)

I am going with the Zeta III in all black with the BRIDE rails that everyone has been using. If I can remember I will get before and after headroom measurements, but I am warning everyone right now that I will probably be a wreck this whole month and might forget to take the time to do it lol.

M.Bonanni 10-06-2009 05:51 PM

BRIDE Zeta III seats/rails and SPL Parts traction arms showed up today! Now I just need my car back from Kognition with the new dry carbon wing so I can put them in :).

theDreamer 10-06-2009 05:57 PM

Good to news, hope you get time to do everything.

NRG Innovations short steering wheel hub, Gen 2.5 steering wheel quick release, and deep dish steering wheel showing up tomorrow. :)

cool. what made you chose those ? I ended up going with momo mod 80 and Joe's disconnect... mine should be here by weekend. my first time buying a racing wheel, and didn't do a ton of research, so curious what you look for in a wheel and hub/disconnect

NRG was the only people I knew of that made a hub for the 370Z. According to them they are different from the 350Z. I also had their stuff on my old 350Z and loved the simplicity and easy of using their Gen2.5 disconnect. For the wheel, I tend to like the wheel as close to me as possible, to a certain extent, so I figured I would try with a deep dish style wheel first. If that puts it too close to me then I will switch to a regular wheel.

Little teaser shot of the pile of parts I have waiting for my car to get done with the Kognition wing development. :)

http://www.doubledownmotorsports.com/370zsemaparts.jpg

More to come in the following weeks.

And for those of you who haven't been following the Kognition Wing Development thread...

http://www.the370z.com/exterior-inte...velopment.html

Here is a photo of the design process. The real wing stands will be watter jetted aluminum and the wing, bases, and end plates dry carbon fiber...

http://www.doubledownmotorsports.com/kogwingdev2.jpg

DannyGT 10-07-2009 07:54 PM

Lookin good! cant wait to see the seat/wheel really set that interior on fire!

M.Bonanni 10-08-2009 07:24 PM

GTSPEC 2-Point Rear Sub-frame brace added to the pile for test fitment. :)

DannyGT 10-09-2009 04:57 PM

BTW - I know we had our differences on the new trends etc etc, but I was watching a special on 'cool factories' and they were talking about Lamborghini...

Your wing beta so far reminded me so much of the new SV wing that I must say, if you water jet those arms to have the least amount of metal on them and carbon everything else this might actually come off looking spectacular...see the image below?!? I think you can really go for that look and get away looking good at the same time!

http://www.fourtitude.com/news/uploa...cielago_sv.jpg

travisjb 10-09-2009 05:08 PM

and it has my scoops ! :)

M.Bonanni 10-09-2009 06:40 PM

Im telling you guys. You must have vision. I guarantee you if I posted a photo of that Lamborghini wing without you being able to see it on a car everyone would scream rice. There are a lot of F&F type wings that do look terrible, but a wing that is constructed of high quality materials that is properly sized and mounted to a car looks really good in my opinion.

M.Bonanni 10-09-2009 06:46 PM

Now, onto other things. Here's what I have been dreaming up for SEMA as far as decals go to make it stand apart from any other 370Z thats there. Of course the wing will be different, this one is just a photoshopped APR wing off of my old 350Z...

http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...ma09side-1.jpg

And yes, I know its pretty much a rip of of Ken Block's Ghymkana 2.0 car as far as the base graphics go, but I have no imagination.

dlmartin81 10-09-2009 09:51 PM

Not bad...I like it. However, I feel like you need a little more green somewhere. Maybe some sort of pin stripe...i dunno.
