Blinder HP905 “parking assist”....like the things that beep when you approach a wall?

If “wall” means cop with laser gun...lol

Love this build, you are changing so many aspects of the Z. I personally would love to install sound deadeners in my Z, filtering out some of the extra NVH from the pillow ball mounts and spherical bushings, just enough to let you still heat what you wanna hear, without being overloaded with various noises.

:rofl2: well it has a parking assist mode... which of course is what it's always set to.. and I certainly don't shout "JAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMBO" whenever it goes off on the highway...

And thank you! Additional sound deadening is absolutely essential in the Z. Until you pull the interior apart you don't realize just how little Nissan put in. There's basically two Kleenexes 'deadening' the rear wheel wells.

About time you did a build thread.

You have a lot into your Nismo Z now very nice money pit! What are you trying to do with your Z? What is your goals with your Z?

Like a fool I tossed all the spare tire foam when I did a sub enclosure. Now that I have taken the audio out, the trunk is just a big bell, amplifying the exhaust. Tested the theory by putting an old quilt in the trunk, what a difference. Currently waiting on some boom mat to arrive, i should have some left over from doing the trunk, any other particular areas that make a noticeable difference?

Thank you! My gf would say that I'm trying to dump as much of my disposable and non-disposable income as possible into my Z. I don't do any track driving; it's entirely road-trip to scenic, curvy roads. Last road trip was 10 days and over 7,000 miles.

I found that using CCF on top of the dynamat-type sound deadener has the best effects. Putting as much CCF over the rear wheel wells had the most noticeable sound reductions. I put two to three layers of CCF over the rear wells. The trunk portion of the driver side rear well is very difficult to get to... if I had to do it over again I'd have considered renting a blower and just blowing foam insulation into the gap between the fender and the wheel well. I haven't taken the Z out since I CCF'd the floor but I will relay how well (or not) that worked.

Just confirming CCF is closed cell foam

Update: CCFing the floor pan resulted in a much quieter drive. Exhaust drone is no longer suicide-inducing.
