Well it’s race day tomorrow!

The car is currently getting an alignment with 300lbs of weight in the trunk. The first test we got 0 camber at full squat but with 2.2* toe In, so we’re trying to see what camber we can get with 0 toe. I’m hoping I can get in the 1.4-1.5 60ft range with this (I know 1.4x’s is asking a lot).

Will report back tomorrow with the results.

Best run so far

sirnixalot 02-23-2020 06:32 PM

Well it looks like that’s the best I’ve got currently. Plan of action for the end of March is to fix the built motor and slap on some GT2871R turbos. That is not a whole lot of time, we will see if I can make it happen

Really really liked this shot of the car in the sunset. Gonna get it printed on canvas

Things that are ordered/on their way to the freight forwarder
OEM rod bearings
OEM head & timing cover gaskets
OEM crank
ID1300x injectors
CJM twin pump hanger
Walbro 535 pump
New intercooler hotside material

I am HOPING to have the turbo's ordered tomorrow.

sirnixalot 02-28-2020 04:40 PM

Welp!

Sponsor offered to get the difference so GTX2871R’s it is!

Got back from Miami with everything. Managed to injure my neck/upper back a week ago so I got enough Aleve and Biofreeze from Target to get through this coming week's metric **** ton of work.

Round 4!

The bearing material scored the cam journals a bit. Took 400-2000 grit to everything and took down any high spots. Other than that I found out that AAM actually bored the motor to 96mm.

I should be able to get the car on the lift Wednesday night to start pulling the other motor out.

Turbo's are here and I test fit one in the turbofold. I'll get them bolted in tonight and work on the actuator mounting solution

With the orientation in the ball park I've made one actuator mount. I will need to tweak this for sure.

sirnixalot 03-11-2020 08:35 AM

Yesterday was pretty productive. I got the car in the air, wiring harness disconnected, drive shaft out, fluids drained and front suspension disconnected.

Swapped the ported lower intake manifold, CJM rails and ID1300's onto the built motor.

Finished the other actuator mount as well

Tonight I get the motor on the ground and then tomorrow I'll start swapping the things I need to onto the built motor.

sirnixalot 03-12-2020 06:48 AM

Mission accomplished, motor and trans are out and separated.

Today I hope to get the built motor in the subframe so I can finish the intercooler piping.

They do look right at home with the s13/14 style compressor housing

sirnixalot 03-12-2020 07:40 PM

Ha! What an optimist I was. I am dead tired but got a lot done.

The compressor outlets on these end up in very different spots so it was quite a bit of work to get everything pointed where it needs to be.

Passenger side ended up being one piece, no boost leaks here!

http://www.the370z.com/members/sirni...8185c4862.jpeg
On the driver side I was unable to use the adapter flanges and had to cheat the 90* elbow to weld directly to the compressor, as such there is one coupler.

Tomorrow night I’ll finish weld the drivers side intercooler piping, reclock and reweld the intakes and finish up the plumbing, the block coolant port on the passenger side is going to need a “new” adapter that’s 90* to clear the compressor housing.

sirnixalot 03-14-2020 09:39 AM

Finish welded the drivers side piping & re-clocking the intakes.

Finalized the actuator brackets.

Got the clutch and flywheel back on.

I am waiting for the machine shop to cut down a new bolt that I broke and then I can finally assemble everything and lower the car down onto the motor.
