Put insurance on the car a couple weeks ago and went for a nice cruise around the city. Turbo **** the bed about 300 yds from the house. Ripped the car apart with ZS-carpenter and found the blades had hit the housing. Turbo is sent off to Compturbo for evaluation and fixing. Went to put the FI exhaust on the car and got the wrong part sent from Boosted Performance. Z is on lift back into hibernation. Removed insurance from the Z. :gtfo2:

Well, the first conversation is not off to a good start with Compturbo. This is their response for their **** breaking at 6k miles.

Hi Scott,

Sorry for the late reply was out of town Monday and Tuesday just catching up now on emails. We have and disassembled and inspected the turbocharger and it looks like the internals are not usable sadly this was the worst case scenario however we can replace the CHRA it would take about 3 weeks so we can hit that mid June deadline for you. The cost for the CHRA is about $1200.00 give us a call and ask for Ernie if you need more information.

Thanks,

Juan

CJM oil pan should be here in a couple of weeks, had the -10AN ports installed for oil fed turbo.

I was never a big fan of those greaseable turbo's. When I was at Elliott TurboMachinery. I've seen grease get cooked and turn into wax and asphalt around bearings. If you are going with a different turbo company. Tell the chitheads that you want the old turbo back, uncleaned. This way you can look at the grease and see what condition it is in.

I need to hit up sasha and ask what should fit the manifold.

Spooler 04-23-2021 11:07 AM

Ask Al- (Solidius on the forum). He is using an oil fed turbo with an Exa pump.
