Well, my favorite tree has to come down. :( We had a storm come through last week and it took a big limb off. One of the main runners cracked so bad I can see light through it. Sucks, gave me really good shade when working on the driveway. Not to mention the awesome yellow and red leaves in the fall.
Tree guys came out yesterday and took down a lot of the upper branches. They are coming back today to finish up. I think I am going to bandsaw up a few of the logs and cure them for a couple of years and turn them into shelves or something :icon17:

Tree is down and my must do list this weekend just grew, a lot. :icon17: Will have to split it all and stack it.

Yeah I have to get the wood splitter out of the garage which requires moving your car, which requires me to move a bunch of those logs.

JARblue 08-18-2017 02:30 AM

Seems like the easiest thing would be to just set it all on fire where it lays :twocents:

I was hoping the 7" screen would fit without a lot of modification but that is a no go. Going to have to use the 5" screen and make a bezel for it.

4 day weekend and it was spent working every single day.
I did catch the mayweather fight last night though so that was cool. Today I decided I might as well work in the garage for a bit. Put the bumper on and lined it up as well as I can. Now off to the body shop and they can make it fit as best as possible.

Added a bunch of pictures that shows the fit and finish from the factory. I fully expect the body shop to be able to make everything line up.
I just love this bumper. Link to album below

I am thinking I might paint the middle section and the small area around the mesh the same as the wheels. Opinions?

Attached garage is getting insulated and drywalled. If anyone heats their garage with either natural gas or electric let me know what you use!

My garage is 20' wide X 22 " deep, insulated, with an insulated 16 foot wide door .I came across a new, in the box, Hot Dawg 45000 btu gas heater by Modine on another forum. Fortunately my gas meter is just behind my garage , so it was just a matter of drilling a hole in the wall & running a line to it , plus the exhaust pipe which was the bulk of the job. The btu rating is overkill for a garage this size , but it was a good deal at the time.In the winter, which is normally damp & mild, I can be in shorts & a T shirt in 7-8 minutes from start up.If I'm washing the car , I'll set it around 60-65 F. Gas use is negligible & doesn't seem to affect my bill. It's about the size of a Canadian 24 of beer. Their website has a good variety of heaters. The garage has been totally cleaned up after this pic was taken.

The Z is getting put away for the winter. I have to decide if I want to keep it or possibly trade it in for a vette. Not sure which direction I am going to go as I havent touched the Z in months. Here she sits as of now, nothing changed since last post.

Tell you what will happen if you get the Vette. You will drive it for awhile because it's a new thing to you. The newness will go away. Then it will sit just like the Z.

My 2017 Z06 is at 9800 miles and daily driven. The Z06 was leased bye my company and the lease will expire in December of 2017. Chevrolet is having problems selling and leasing all Corvette models. They do not want my ZO6 back and are offering me a very low lease payment for me to keep it. I will keep it for another year. A Z06 is a serious sports car and can and is daily driven bye me :driving:

My 2010 Nismo sits at 104678 miles and is still in mint condition ;)

I've been torn all summer, barely had time to drive it. There have been plans to talk with Phunk about some engine work with some bits and bobs added. Then it will be like a new toy all over again. I love the look of the Z, that hasn't got old at all to me. Hell, I still do the look back when I park her. :icon17:

I spent many years and allot of time sorting out my 2010 Nismo. After the summer repaint and the new Black Nismo headlights its a real beauty. I refuse to part with it on the fact. I really still enjoy driving it and the resale value with its high millage is zero. My 2010 Nismo is my pride and joy and its a different sports car from any model Corvette. I will keep enjoying it

Stuck a strip of LEDs on the TV for a little backlighting. I think I need to find a set with a dimming option.

Las Vegas sounds like a great central spot for all to fly into  Can you imagine all the fun we would have. We both can be designated drivers while everyone parties on

That darn Mr. Dee would really make the trip well worth it. Mr. Dee always brings a smile to my face :icon17: He is the third brother I never had :icon17:

I believe you madwi took me a dozen times been tempted on trading or selling my Z but evertime I look at it. I always fall back and ended up keeping it. Time is not on our side now the resale of the Z has reached its point if going down the path to what the 350 is currenty in now. But my Z is a work of art and my love, I created it out of my passion for cars nothing like it out there.

My Z51 vett gives me the same joy and currently doing the same build as I have imagined it to be. You will never regret owning one as the Performace level of the vett is limitless, the longer I drive it the more I discover its potentials and how great a sports car the C7.
