Good luck with the paint job! Sounds awesome! I'm getting mine painted QAB Pearl white in March..but leaving roof and hatch black with the carbon fiber hood. Undecided on which color rims would look best tho. Black/chrome lip...or some type of gunmetal.
|
Sounds cool!
Keep us informed, would love to see it.. I like the exposed carbon look especially when its an underlay type deal and subtle. Good luck! |
Just finally made an album. Gotta post a few pics of my old Z. Damn, I miss that car..oddly! haha
|
Cool, I'll look for it.
I like all the mods people are doing, bunch of different mods, nice to see some variety. Suppose thats the biggest reason I'm painting mine, havent seen too many matte black ones yet. |
Yea the Matte black will definitly set it apart! Black rims too huh? Thats awesome! I need to find new ones for mine..which color you think would be best for a two tone car?
|
Definitely black rims for me but I may just stick with teh stock Nismo's. The ones I do like are 2 months out so I don't have the patience.
As far as advice...I'm the wrong guy to ask, heck, half the ideas so far is from this board. That photoshop thread helped me quite a bit. I was going to run this really wide stripe down the middle but once Eric drew it out for me it didn't look so great. I'll keep you in mind if something sticks out, do the same for me if your looking around. |
What kind of wide stripe do you mean exactly? Like a thick pinstripe? I've seen 4 inch vinyl decals on the 350s going from the front wheel well straight across to the taillights. Looked pretty good but you have to consider the colors of the car and the stripe itself. I'd say with the matte black..a 2 inch flat dark grey following the trim from the headlights underneath the window lines, curving up and ending at the quarter window would look sharp. haha...but that's what I'm looking at doing to seperate the two colors. Just hoping it'll look as good as I imagine

Really cool! I think I sold my wife on the same idea today. There was a wrapped nismo 350 at The Run down here in Tampa today (not black, but it looked great)
I want it to protect the paint on the track though. I'm thinking matte black with gloss black thepowdercoater.com logos on the side, so it can also be an advertising expense for my business, and therefore tax deductible. |
Got to love tax writeoffs. Especially the "grey area" once...haha.
I saw that lambo at last years LA Auto Show. On preview night they allowed us to sit in it and check it out. Crazy looking thing in person, looks like batman vehicle or some stealth jet. Pretty sweet! I've said it before, I'm REALLY excited to see how it comes out! Can't get it back soon enough!!:happydance: |
matte white...lol... that looks interesting
|
One of the guys at the meet was talking about all types of matte colors, I'm not sure I've ever seen anything but black.

Lambo matte blue:

That is SSSWWEEETTT!
Funny, who would of thought Matte would look better then gloss. I sure like the lines of Lambo's, make any paint look nice. Bought a orange gallardo a couple years back from a dealer in newport beach, unfortunately it didnt end well but they are beautiful cars. Wife just about flipped when I drove up with it, shortest ownership of a car in history!!! Owned it for less then 12 hours HAHAHA. |

Then I: :rofl2: That sucks to hear, I have been a huge fan of matte white and the matte blue (one reason they are so easy to find for me because I look at them all the time). Matte black looks great, but it is so...bland, matte blue is extremely nice and honestly it still has a bit of a pop to it. Damn you guys, now you are getting me to think about wrapping my car in matte blue...grrrr. |
