If that ever happens, have a few more drinks first and you'll never even think about the feet :) HAHAH

GTM Motorsports*::*ENGINE INTERNALS*::*GTM 4.2 L Stroker kit-For the VQ35HR & VQ37VHR

The very first GTM 2006 Nissan 350z that received this build achieved 855whp (DJ) at 22psi.
That was with a VQ35DE too.

I'm all about being the Guinea Pig at times but this isn't my cup of tea. I appreciate the whole naturally Aspirated thing but one thing is for sure...

With all the cars and even more bikes I've owned.... I've had very few positive experiences with digging into the block. I've spun bearings, overheating issues through the gazzoo, thrown valves, etc etc. My neighbors son built a newer model camaro, spent $16K on an engine build and what a pc of sh#$

I'm sure if anyone can do it, GTM can be trusted but I'm much more of a bolt on kind of guy. These things are bulletproof from the factory, pulling it apart to pop in bigger pistons takes a bigger man then me. Owning the pc of crap Ferrari with only 1200 miles makes me even more paranoid, I'm still paying for the repairs on that thing and I sold it nearly a year ago

Crazy how cheap it is though...would be interesting.:ugh2:

yeah probably 10k out the door if you didn't pull the guy out yourself. maybe a lil more, but not much.

motoextreme 01-21-2010 04:37 PM

I pulled the trigger on painting a new car...that's enough gambling for me for a while.

Honestly though...$10K for a Stroker vs maybe $13-14K for a nice turbo system. I'd personally opt for the Turbo. Have to figure these motors already run warm, I'm no engineer but I'd think the Turbo is a more reliable bet.

Pretty sure I'm going to start a fight on that one though...HAHA

since noone has really gutted a VHR yet i think you'll be safe

Ryan@IP 01-21-2010 05:06 PM

Just wanted to pop in and congratulate you on a job well done! It definitely takes a risk to try a unique paint color on any new car, and your gamble paid off! Surely there are some photographers out there looking to get this in a magazine or some other feature?

motoextreme 01-21-2010 05:23 PM

Had a couple people mention a few things but nothing solid just yet. I really don't care if it makes it in Mag's or not, had my of my GSXR's get into a bike magazine so the novelty wore off a bit.

I heard they are looking for a few cars for the next Fast & Furious and it happens that our CEO is close to one of the producers (I had dinner with the guy a few months back and surprised he was an older guy). I've since learned that they beat the piss out of the cars so I may pass on that too even if the option arises.

Either way, thanks for the props man, can't wait to get her out of the garage when this storm passes! All the best, Adam.

PS. If a Mag option does come up, I'll use it to bump our Sponsors and the board of course. Owe you guys big time for all the help and advice since the incept of this project.

The action cars are beaten badly, but getting your car into one of the background scenes might be good. :D

Yeah, that would be cool.

I'm pushing for the magazine thing. That way I can payback some of these guys for all the quick shipping, good deals and that sort or thing. Those Magazine articles are awesome for shops, really put My Moto shop on the radar for a while and the damn magazine was from Italy. Couldn't imagine what a Cycle World or Motorcyclist mag would of done.

That would be good, magazines last forever and get a lot of respect in the community. F&F...not so much. :shakes head:

I'm with you for certain. Anyone that watches them for anything more then the cars and girls is .... well, you know...

I admit, I'm one of the first to see them as I love cars but wow does the acting suck at times.

Acting was one thing, but when they just get things wrong it got me laughing.
Just try to work a scene into the movie where you race a new Camaro & Mustang and it takes a left turn and they both spin out. ;)

Hint: The left turn plays on the American past time racing event, and the fact the Camaro & Mustang are beaten to death for not being track cars.
