Adam, the wait was worth it. Holy crap!
|
:eek2: That looks great, the pinstripe works on making a nice transfer from the two colors and blends in well with the wheels. Under the hood looks great and definitely has a nice pop to it.
|
wow, just wow. ive been waiting for pics man, i log on everyday and check the thread. LOOKS AMAZING, can't wait for new pics
|
I'll take some nice ones today, want to lower it a good inch or so first. Wife woke up at 5AM and took it to the Gym. Guess she's loving it too HAHAAHA
Thanks for all the props, came together much better then I hoped, guys at RAW really came through for me. Black pinstripe it is, hope they don't flip out :ugh2: I'll post some nice clear pics tonight. Talk to you soon. |
You know another option for the pinstripe, is make it more bronze - match it to the wheels, and in my opinion, make it a little more narrow. I think it would look good, and make a nice transition between the colors and match up the wheels
|
I think a black pin stripe ought to pop pretty well...going with a gloss black?
Gold-on-black never did it for me, FWIW... |
The bronze looks good in person but the gloss black will hide the ridge a little. The cut was pretty clean but without a clear its pretty much impossible to blend it so I think a pinstripe is a must.
Bear in mind that I didnt pay top dollar for the paintjob so there are a couple of flaws that we need to touch up but to be 100% honest, I really don't care. I do like the whole showcar thing for some but this one is my driver that I'm going to have fun in. Batman all the way :driving: |
Wife just rolled in...
She's loving it (which is cool). How do I get her not to drive it, perhaps a REALLY stiff clutch? HAHAHA . Kidding, she's a car freak too. Said everyone loved the gold...oh well, if I miss it I'll put it back later. HMMMM... Off to RAW for some adjustments then off to Amplified. Catch you all later. |
I love it and hate it.
The flat/satin/matte (whatever they want to call it) looks fantastic, and I personally like the bronze pinstripe matching the wheels and providing a break between the normal black and satin color. However, I would have done away with that idea all together! The satin black looks so good that I would have done the hood/roof/hatch all the same and only left the vents exposed in CF. Like that, you wouldnt even have to worry about a pinstripe and it would look 100% more stealth. Either way, props to the good work, and I would leave it as is since the work is done...Or else finish it all up in the same satin black! One more thing...Did they leave the wire mesh on the vented hood silver? PLEASE PLEASE, get them to stealth that out, looks like someone went to home depot to get chicked wire and its all exposed! |
Holy Boner Batman!
|
Your 100% on the mesh, its still there but I'm not liking it. I'm going to address that today actually but probably can't fix it until later. I'm with you doing the whole thing in flat but you have to see it without the gold, it really flows together.
I dont know what the hood guys were thinking on the chicken mesh, looks almost like chrome. oh well, at least you can only see it parked and not whilst driving. |
looks really cool!!!

Gold-on-black works sometimes, but on a car like the 370Z I wouldn't do it. At a stretch I'd do red on black, but I like stealth  |
hey adam good to catch up with ya @ amplified
lou get some pics up STAT! |
Moto, looks awesome.
If you decide not to keep the gold pin stripe I think the gloss black you mentioned or maybe a grey/gunmetal as a transition between the black and carbon might look hot too. I agree about the mesh. IMO on any color car, mesh should be black! Or, no lighter than dark gunmetal on a black car for a mild contrast. If you click the link on my signature from my intro the mesh on my TRD hood on the Supra was a dark metallic gunmetal and it looked really nice/subtle. The pic isn't very close up, if you want a better one I can look for one. Just PM me. |
